First off, the moment you walk in, youā€™re greeted with a huge sniff of moldiness. Thats when i knew this isnt gna be good. They charge you for everything. The moment you arrive to check-in, you are charged a ā€˜service chargeā€™ and a deposit hold. If they have my cc on file, why do they charge for deposit? Didnt make sense. Honestly, the place itself and the rooms felt dingy. I understand its the ā€˜jungleish vibe, and very hippyishā€™ but as far as sanitation -wise , didnt meet standards. Everything on this hotel is purely for aesthetic and all the amenities have no purpose. Its like the teemu version of a hotel that has potential with the right management/ownership who is willing to focus what people will pay for. Instead, this almost feels like a bait and switch. They bait you with aesthetic decor and picture by social media influencers but the quality falls significantly short. Please book elsewhere where you the price youā€™re paying for is what its worth. I dont mind paying $ for value but unfortunately this place is not a hit. All the staff on the property were super friendly and nice. The person who checked us in Marciano was friendly and accessible. During checkout, i guess the room i was staying in was missing a water bottle that was suppose to be in the room. They asked me about a glass water bottle ā€¦ instead maybe offer a bottle of water to your guests as accommodation? Its hot as hell in the lobby and it smells moldy. Rubbed customer the wrong way.

Extremely pleased with our stay at Azul. The staff is friendly and attentive. Victor at the Agave restaurant deserves a special mention. You could call on him for food and drink suggestions, beach towels, sunscreen, and he would assist with a big smile and a great vibe. Overall, it was an amazing, pleasant, and relaxing experience.

They accused me for ripping off bed sheets but the bed sheets all ready was ripped off on the sims in two places. Beach lounges was a same thing from the sun, weather and oldest was started ripping of some we try to sit. Very unprofessional staff, very rude and limited food and drinks. They have only 1 beer kind of to chose , diner menu have only 3 menu course to chose and 2 appetizers. Very dirty place in the beach club and beach restaurant.

**DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL** My partner and I went to Tulum for our 2nd anniversary, but our trip was disappointing. Despite being from Mexico, I was shocked by how underdeveloped Tulum is given the high prices. We booked through Expedia and, due to the hotelā€™s high transportation fees (6k and 8k MXN round trip, around $300/$400 USD), we decided to rent a car. At the hotel, we had to leave a $400 USD depositā€”unlike any other hotel I've stayed at. We also had to sign a form for a $50 charge per lost beach towel, considering their poor condition, felt like extortion. Our room had several issues: the window didn't close properly, letting in wind and rain, and the AC barely worked, making the room hot and sticky. We had a terrible night's sleep. When I requested an iron and ironing board, they provided a small, dirty board and an old iron. Dinner was overpriced at $150 USD for two, including $25 for two juices. The food was mediocre. Complimentary coffee, which my husband found gross, was left outside our door in an old-looking basket. Due to the poor hotel experience and bad weather, we decided to leave early. The front desk refused a refund, even with the storm worsening. The staff showed no concern for guest safety. Expedia contacted the hotel on our behalf, but they still refused. In total, we spent $4k, with $2k on the hotel alone, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. Our experience was terrible, and itā€™s disheartening to see such exploitation of tourists.
