Took extremely long time to book in, so much so I asked if I could sit down. Asked for my card for $200 ‘damage charge’ and told I wouldn’t get it back when checking out, but up to 30 days later with Suncorp. I asked to pay cash as I was a pensioner!Told ‘no cash site’. I insisted and was finally granted cash deposit with condition that inspection of room be conducted before money returned at check out.
Inferred by receptionist that room was quite near (just take lift near reception up to 2nd floor to your room). I have a bad hip and didn’t realise that our room was 2 buildings from reception! Husband went ahead while I rested then had to ring me to say he’d found the room and gave directions! I had to rest again on a staircase on the way. I burst into tears when I entered the tiny room with a triangular bathroom and little balcony. I was so angry I just wanted to get out of there!
I phoned reception in tears and spoke to the same person who took nearly 30 mins to book me in and said I’d just got to the room that she’d inferred was close to reception, that I was in pain, disappointed with how small the room was and that I wanted my money back and wanted out of there immediately. She said she was sorry and sent someone to move us to a room close to the lift and lobby. This room had the path to the beach & garden outside and we had to keep shutters closed most of time. 3 nights sitting on bed as no chairs in room.
The room was nothing like the room advertised on Wotif.com!
