When we arrived our prep hole was broken on our door. They were not able to fix it for an entire two days so we had a large hole in our door where the prep hole was supposed to be. Food options were okay, wait times were about an hour for each restaurant. The beach was very dirty, there was garbage all over the beach so we paid for an ocean view but did not enjoy the ocean very much. One thing that did make our stay better was Donovan in the food department, he made our experience much better! Overall I would say mediocre.

Cons:Not much upgrade in ten years since our previous stay ,they will try to sell you time share upon arrival, staff at buffet poor service, food lacks quality and variety, sometimes cold, restaurants food pretentious but bland, our room fridge was broken,ac poor,phone only working on speaker,last day requested a bell boy to pick up our luggage and never came, bars close too early ,pool stairs are rough ,lack of maintenance,pool bar at five and adult pool also closes at five(ridiculous)... Also beach is dirty with sargassum, and smells... Pros: hotel location, not too big, walkable,pool very nice shape, adult pool beautiful,drinks are decent,a lot of shade on pools and chairs, hotel architecture is very nice, transportation agents on lobby always available.

The staff at this property are excellent, personable and accommodating. The food at restaurants were good but World cafe had a more diversified offering. Room was comfortable and clean. AC worked excellent in room. Events were offered to the guest and the staff made them entertaining. All mixed drinks and pools were terrific. Sargassum on beach made ocean unusable with no sight of resort personnel getting involved with removal. To leave resort to visit nearby towns expensive with no shuttles offered. Great resort for all.

We looked at the reviews and thought this one was it… boy where we wrong. Our bed had bed bugs 😖 I’ve never experienced such a terrible experience in my life. I’m still suffering from it. There were a lot of different types of bugs in the room, it was disgusting. Also staff is snobby and money hungry. a staff member at the bar was harassing me and we where part of the preferred club… meaning we paid extra to be there… he kept correcting me when I asked for two waters he got in my face and said it’s “dos dos agua” say dos your in Mexico now. I felt so uncomfortable and I would definitely not recommend or ever go back. The Amster shuttle was late as well. The man in the front with the luggage was rude and unprofessional. My husband knows Spanish and overheard his saying rude and disrespectful things about other guests. Honestly the best part where the kind guests and the ocean.

We got a last minute deal to Dreams Sapphire and were so happy with our stay. Rooms were perfect, mini bar was great and stocked, resort food was very very good - perhaps one of the better we have ever had. We got a taxi into Playa Del Carmen one day and were helped by the VIP table. Ubers are not really a thing so its kinda expensive but fun for a day. Beach was taken care of, pool had alot of fun and lots of waiters, restuarants were awesome. We only waited one night and knew we would so had a salad at the buffet before. Overall- we would be back easily.

The beach had a lot of seaweed built up on beaches. It was not a very nice beach at all. The pictures were misleading. Although we understand it was low season, the bars closed early and only certain restaurants were open each night without warning as to which would be closed. This made planning where to go difficult. The buffet was also fairly minimal with poor options. The staff were great though and we had a very enjoyable excursion. The beach bar is also great but it took us a few days to find it.
