The location was perfect for our purposes. The parking charge was reasonable, for Chicago. The staff was friendly and helpful. But the rooms were designed for people 7’tall. I am 5’, and I had to ask if there were a step of any sort to allow me to get into the bed without a running start. I was given the cheesy plastic one pictured here. While it was better than nothing, and did serve the purpose, surely there could have been a choice more in keeping with the tone of the place. The shower head was set so high on the wall that, although I could see that adjustments were possible, I was unable to make any. My 6’ tall husband laughed when I told him—but it turned out he could just barely reach it on tiptoe.

I am definitely going to stay here every time I come back to Chicago. It was reasonably priced, clean, fantastic facilities, no noise issues from inside the hotel (there was outdoor noise, but it was Pride in Boystown so obviously we expect and love that), the free breakfast was good, staff were very friendly, parking was always easy, the list goes on and on. 10/10 would recommend!

I was wholeheartedly disappointed. Let me say what I found disturbing, and you will need to decide how to best fix the issues: The property is under construction in fundamental ways (light fixtures on the floors, wood paneling stacked in hallway, the breakfast area is a complete disaster and placed in a closet or narrow and weird hallway). There was zero housekeeping for one of the two nights I paid over $300 to stay. On the one day that there was housekeeping, staff began loudly clanking down the hallway and knocking on doors before 9 AM. The breakfast area was cramped and uncomfortably hot; the selection was heavy with machines that did not function and light with actual options of food; we just grabbed waters; there was not enough space for more than one person to navigate the space properly. I selected an accessible room, but the hotel has no accessibility signs, none whatsoever; the stairs to get into the front door are exceptionally dangerous (slippery, steep, and inadequately railed. As we arrived and almost fell down the dangerous and unmarked front entry stairs, an electrician/employee was installing lighting fixtures then laid all along the floor right inside the front door. Again this was yet another dangerous safely condition. The carpeted hallways were very musty. The entire place smelled strongly of a strange series of chemicals: rubbing alcohol, vinegar, bleach, pine sol, fabulosa; the smells weee so intense that they made me queasy.
