Pictures must be from the 50s when it was built. Run down, elevator out of order . Insufficient air conditioning, granite pillows. Rusty floors etc etc. Plus side , fantastic location free chairs for the beach super friendly staff. Owners need a revamp and the restaurant is closed with no apparent reopen date.

The elevator was broken. One traveler in our party needs accommodations. Considering that it had been a long day we considered staying however was informed there was no one to assist with bringing the bags upstairs. Had to cancel the reservation and rebook. Called Expedia and was advised they could only refund after speaking to the property. Still awaiting a refund.

The staff is great BUT the elevator is out of service, my senior mom had difficult time walking stairs, and bed too high for her too. Also, TV is damage, the staff requested a new one.

Our room had bed bugs. The floors were nasty and the bathroom disgusting. Our tv remote only changed the channels down so had to go through all the channels if you missed what you wanted to watch. They do not offer heat. Although this is Miami and we understand the weather is hot during most months when the weather is chill the rooms are extremely cold even with the ac off.

No WiFi available for our room. Desk staff said it was probably because of where we were located. Couldn’t do anything to help. Overall very simple, unattractive, empty and of need for upgrades. Not dirty exactly, but just not very nice feeling. Regret staying and would never come back.

It was great staying at the Beacon, the bathrooms are super small but the bed was good. This is good for weekend but not great for longer stays. If your looking for a great south beach location and affordable and not high end then this is your place.

I am not sure why the hotel has an 8 star rating. The whole building needs to be renovated. The bed base was unstable and making noises when I move. The hot water took about 10 mins to come out. The toilet paper holder came loose and dropped on the floor. The bed was not changed and had a lot of long hair all over. I took a video and showed it to the front agent. He offered me to change rooms or new sheets for me to change them myself since he was the only one on duty. Needless to say I won’t be staying at this property again nor will recommend to anyone. I wasted $1,000 for two days when could have stayed at the Four Seasons.

The rooms are not as pictured. Elevator and tv did not work at check in with information that repair service had been requested. By the time we left days later, both still not repaired. Despite these inconveniences, the room was clean and quiet, location was great, staff members were extremely friendly and attentive. There were complimentary bikes, beach chairs and towels during our stay, which were also great.

Room was not as shown in photos .. Floor was not clean and had a lot of grout showing. Phone in room was broken and didn’t work. Staff not very friendly and was charged for room before I arrived and was supposed to pay at the property. Booking even said pay at property and they tried to cancel my reservation and said the listing as such was a mistake.
