The property was old and while it was advertised as updated the only thing done was room decor. The walls, tiles, facilities were still run down and in poor condition. This resort is also a resort geared towards seniors 60 n up. There is nothing to do. The riu parties are terrible and so is the music. The dj could not read the crowd. Played techno the entire time. The food was beyond terrible. Only thing good was the steakhouse but it gave me food poisoning so not sure. The drinks are so watered down u don’t even get a buzz after 10 in I was completely fine and I’m not a big drinker. Don’t do elite club it’s not worth it u get the same stuff as a regular guest. And no one even goes to the elite bar. The check in is never crowded so u don’t need elite check in. Book your own transportation trust me. Our ride back was late the service company destination svcs didn’t even try to help us and the bus was old and didn’t go over 15mph tooook forever. Did I mention the food sucks. Positives are was not crowded, felt safe, close to beach. Book at your own risk you were warned.

( stayed in Rui Macao for 6 days ) The front desk staff , Sport Bar bar tender ( name Junior ) , and most of the bar and restaurant staff are terrible and impolite. Even I gave tips to them, they don’t say thank you and smile , I feel so weird. The most polite restaurant are in main restaurant buffet and Krystal restaurant . And the room and food are fair. I won’t go back to Rui Macao again.

Property was very nice from lobby entrance to the pool and beach. My room 1026 was ok it needed up keeping the paint on the door was peeling the overhead shower was leaking water from pipe over the glass shower door so couldn’t use it, but that still did not prevent the floors from getting wet because the glass shower door allowed water to leak from the bottom. Also the room would get a bad smell from the AC vent unit that I think was coming from the outside bathroom below my room if the vents were connected. Room services food selection could have been better or at least give the option to get Elite room service even if you had to pay for that option to order. Overall everything else was nice the restaurants nice and the staff were really friendly.

Let’s start off by talking about the rooms. The rooms have a wet smell/ mold smell. When we would leave the room and come back our clothes felt damp. When we got there no one show us to our room (which we change 2 time but like at 4 in total due to the smell). The staff at the front desk is rude and does not have good customer service. At times it came off has racist. To be honest this is the worst hotel I have been to which makes me never want to come back to this country. The only thing they have going for them is the party’s.

I enjoyed the entire property and all their staff. The only problem was the smell of the room. It smelled funny. FEBREEZE PLUG INS WILL HELP ALOT. but will definitely stay again.
