The checkin process was very long. There were issues with the reservation as well between the hotel and Expedia, which they said happens often. The room feels Wet, leaving my clothes and worse, the sheets feeling wet. It feels like sleeping in wet clothes all the time. The aircon cannot be adjusted.

This was my first trip to Mexico and I had a fantastic experience at Barcelo Maya Palace. The staff were wonderful, very clean, great food, a lot to do, etc. I would definitely recommend!

Beautiful beachfront resort with impressive amenities, including spacious pools, multiple restaurants, and direct access to a stunning beach. Rooms are clean and comfortable, the service is generally friendly, and the dining options are varied, offering a nice mix of cuisines. The resort also caters well to families, with plenty of activities for kids and adults alike. However, some guests may find that the resort attracts a particular demographic. Recently, there seems to be a noticeable presence of Russian speaking tourists, which some visitors may feel affects the atmosphere, depending on their preferences. This doesn’t detract from the quality of the facilities but is something to be aware of when booking. Overall, it’s a solid resort with great offerings, though crowd dynamics might influence the experience.

We have been to Barcelo 10 times. Last time we stayed at this property in April of 2024 and this time there was mold in the room and on the and drapery too. The pillow smelled moldy too. The sheets on the bed are wet constantly. No steamer in the premium room. Waited long time to get towels. There were 5 of us in the room and every day we got 4 towels only. On Friday September 20th we didn't get out room cleaned at all. Not sure that ee will return to Barcelo because of the mold issue in the rooms

Overall a nice trip. The Palace is definitely starting to show wear & tear, especially pool, lots of missing/chipped tiles. Dirty grout lines. Areas around resort had sewage smell at times. Pool bathrooms were disgusting, need to be cleaned more frequently throughout the day. Beach was beautiful. Food was good, buffet & ala cartes. Staff is friendly.

They could not upgrade our room and we had to walk a lot just to get to the lobby. When you are older they should take that into consideration. They minibar was not replenished without a phone call. Not sure if we will go there again.

This is the best spot I have stayed in Cancun so far, this is our third trip and it was fantastic. We stayed here for 9 days and it blew our expectations. The staff is amazing, very accommodating. Rooms are nice and the food was also good. They have a dive center for scuba divers that I also recommend. The reef right off the resort is truly amazing.

The Property was amazing , our room was more than we expected , the beaches were awesome , the food was top.notch. But more than anything the staff and service was 10 stars. Every server was friendly , helpful and genuine . The grounds staff did an amazing job of keeping everything raked and spotless and the room staff as always work incredibly hard to make your room an oasis to retire to after a day in the sun . Cannot wait to return

The food options at the buffet and a la carte restaurants at the Barcelo Maya Palace were great and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The rooms could do with a little updating but other than that, we enjoyed our stay here.
