Hotel was central and closed to the numerous bars and restaurants in the Mailbox area. Check-in was quick but a little impersonal. Not a lot of information given. Room nice and comfortable if a little dark. Two single beds in the twin were comfortable. I would stay here again and I thought it was good value.

I'd come again!
A short trip to the Midlands to see family early on Saturday so we needed a bed for Friday night. Malmaison was great. The mailbox carpark is immediately next door & with the discount code given by the hotel just over £18 for 24 hours (not bad these days). Lovely greeting at reception. Room 616 on 6th floor was very clean, very easy to sort temperature, plenty of storage if needed. Very comfortable bed (slept like a baby). Good bathroom with bath & shower. Considering it's right in the centre, there's no noise from outside so peaceful (only brief noise was from neighbours shouting & playing loud music in the early hours, not something the hotel can control). Food slightly pricey in the grill but not extortionate. Excellent staff, very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Paid £14 extra to upgrade to a club room, not sure it was worth extra, free hair in the bathroom and a stained bath mat …. Hotel starting to show its age, particularly in the bathroom, nice bar of soap but no soap dish. Bed a decent size and comfortable, a sheet for us menopausal women would be good, as a heavy tog duvet is not going to happen. Meal in the brasserie was good, although the blue cheese burger had no blue cheese … Our waiter Bismark was a legend A good choice at breakast very good granola. Car park at hotel and pre paid discount on the stay. This is a return stay having stayed here about 18 years ago, not sure we would come ago due to other competition.

Great location and service, room needed some TLC
Staff were very helpful and location is good. Were offered the opportunity of an upgrade, but weren't successful and offered an alternative at the hotel which wasn't worth it tbh, but had to make an on the spot decision. Condition of the room could have been better - shower didn't work properly and tap was loose in the bathroom. Parking was VERY confusing, just needs a sign!
