Staff was awesome! Meals were tasty! Maybe a bit complicated for the “à la carte” restaurants, you need to be real quick to make your reservation or else you will eat at 9:30pm, but nothing to make me substrat a star! Suite was spacious, spotless and housekeeping very efficient! Koodos for the 24hr room service! Will definitely return in the future!

Was not family friendly at all like they have stated on their site. I was not able to get rooms close with my kids, not even in the same building, and I was asked to pay $200 dollars more if I wanted to stay in the same building as my kids. There was one lobby bartender that was mad at our kids for getting drinks and he was even mad at me for getting a virgin mix drink. I was told by him the whole mix drink menu could not be made into virgin drinks when other days I could get it in virgin drinks with a different bartender. If we had 6 or more people every time we went to eat at the buffet restaurant we had to wait, and they would let a couple groups of people behind us with 2-3 people go before us even when we said we all didn't have to sit together at a table. We could never reserve a night to have dinner at 5 to 8 pm because we had too many people. They only had reservations for us after 9:00pm so all our dinner reservations were always at 9:00 and 9:30 and we were only able to reserve dinner 3 nights out of our 5 nights there because reservations were all full and booked and it was only our 2nd day there when we reserved for our dinners. I asked to talk to a manger, and he didn't seem to care about my concerns making it seem like he didn't want to address it to his employees about good customer services. I don't recommend families going to this hotel.

I was disappointed by how different the photos and real rooms look. Also the rooms smelt really funky. I coudln't get used to it, and it bothered me in my sleep quite a bit. Also, I got a crap load of acne on one side of my face that I sleep on, so i question how clean the bed sheets were too.

I loved my stay here! Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately, there was a bad odor where the little creek is, but there isn’t much they can do about that. Overall, great experience and highly recommend it. Food was the best I’ve ever had at an all inclusive resort. Many food options and plenty of events to keep you entertained.

The facilities are excellent, it is a high class resort. The food, pool, maintenance and friendliness of the staff is 5 star. The El Cid and Ventus are connected and there is no barrier or marker between the two, so it is really just one big complex. You have to go through a dirt road from Puerto Morelos to get to the site and the taxi fee to get to and from the facility is doubled or tripled the local rate and highly controlled another downside is the beach which is not really worth using since it has gigantic sand bags and turbulent water. If you want to stay on-site and don't need a beach, this place has everything you need. Kudos for all they do to make birthdays special.

Great place for families. Buffet is very kid friendly- a la carte restaurants are better for adults. Rooms are clean, staff is very accommodating. Don’t let them suck you into HAVING to meet with guest services when you arrive for the long presentation to purchase packages. They called and woke us up two days in a row because we were too tired and hungry to sit with them after a long day of travel. Just tell them right away while checking in that you’re not interested. If you want excursions go to the Expedia desk or towel desk by the main pool for help

The property is clean, the food is great, and the service was excellent all until Christmas eve. I had reached out at the beginning of December via email to the concierge about pricing and the process for guest passes for my parents who would be visiting us at the resort on Christmas eve and Christmas day to see their grandchild, as they are already spending time in Mexico for the holiday. They gave us the price for half day pass and full day pass. The day prior to Christmas eve, I checked again at the front desk, and requested to pay ahead of time for my parents arrival the next day. I was told the guests need to be present in order to issue the day passes and they need to present their IDs, and they explained and wrote down the pricing information-which was consistent with the email I received almost 1 month prior. I was advised to call security when my parents were 30 minutes away so that they can be let into the resort until I meet them at reception and sort out the guest passes. Upon my parents arrival, the front desk said they cannot issue guest passes on Christmas eve and Christmas day this is policy. My parents had rented a car, driven 5 hours, spent thousands of dollars to meet us. Shocked and upset, I requested to speak to the manager but he was no help. Finally he called someone and then he significantly raised the price of the day passes per person, per day. Be careful, they are shifty.

The resort is quite nice and fun for the family. Plenty of food options. The diving pool was amazing for the kids (and me). We were on the beach if needed but didn’t spend a lot of time there. Although swimmable it just wasn’t the most appealing….but it was okay. The pools were the place to be for us. The option to move freely between three different adjacent hotels was very nice. A different vibe at each. Staff was good and mostly helpful. We were a bit disappointed upon arrival that nobody really helped us or told us where to go. We eventually found our room and it actually belonged to somebody else! The hotel made up for it by upgrading our room. We also didn’t love the amount of sales pitches (often not very transparent) in the lobby. People were nice but it was overwhelming and difficult to determine if worth it. We tried a couple where they give discounts for tours and in the end they weren’t worth it. I just wanted to point out the few negatives so others can avoid but really overall the stay was excellent.

The. Absolute. Worse. Stay! I don’t even know where to start. Be prepared to walk a very far way as the resort is large. The property and staff really don’t care about you. The bar tenders got grouchy for having to make a beverage at 8:50 when they don’t close until 9. The resort shuts down completely by 10. There is nothing to do for entertainment. The try and provide entertainment at the big pool (which is so cold - the ocean is warmer) and the employees just yell into the microphone. It gets old and tiring. Pool chairs are saved as early as 6 am and NOBODY enforces the hour limit. Buffet food is terrible and so are the waiters. They take the drink orders and never return. We booked the bell hops to pick up our items at 11:30 for checkout at 12, and they never showed up. The beach sucks. They have big barriers in the ocean and it takes away from the beauty of the waters. The resort lacks amenities. We stayed for 10 days and wanted to go home after 4! We will never stay with the name again.

Never go Cancun, never choose this hotel

I can't agree with the high ratings of this hotel. I wonder if they have 1 staff for 30 guests. Even though They are lazy, and they don't keep their promises. And if you ask for service, you will be ignored. This hotel adds to the annoying, it already stressful atmosphere of Cancun. I did say good bye Cancun.I will never visit again Cancun. If you have any plan to visit Carib, consider using Cruise. More fun more cheap.

Overall the resort was nice and clean but I did have a couple issues that would’ve deterred me from choosing this resort. 1. Upon checking in I was told in order to have dinner in one of the restaurants, I needed reservations. I attempted to make reservation and every restaurant included in resort was booked for most of the days we were there which was upsetting. Fortunately, we were able to get into one of the restaurants but after some wait time. 2. They only provided internet access to 2 of our 3 guests and we needed to pay an extra fee for every extra guest. 3. On our last night we arrived from one of our excursions and found bugs and a cockroach in our bathroom. I called front desk to have someone check out the bugs and they refused, said they could have someone fumigate the room in the morning and refused to come check out the room. I understand that it was late but it would’ve been nice to have someone check and clean it up for us. 4. It was not very convenient to the main hotel area and a lot of water adventures are offered like parasailing or kayaking like in other beach/resort areas.
