All the staff were excellent. The resort and beach were wonderful. The room needed work as some of the lights and plugins were not operational. Room was had a musty smell. The buffet and dinner options were great. There was a lack of beach umbrellas around the pools. Shade was hard to find. Some guests demanded we move because they needed shade more than us. The pool table had no chalk for the cues. Our first room we were given was very musty and was used as a storage room. Our second room was occupied and I scared a guest when I entered. Our third room was musty but we were upgraded with VIP braclets and a better room in a few days. We did nnot change rooms once we were settled in.

We liked the way the sleeping quarters were. We like the waking distance to everything. The staff was very friendly. But we didn't like there dinning options. If I want to eat at a buffet I would of went on a Cruise.

This is my second stay at the Allegro Hotel in Cozumel. There are numerous things I could say about the hotel. However, what truly makes this a great place to stay is the staff! From check in to check out and every day in between, the staff went out of their way to be kind and helpful. I did have one server during a dinner that the young lady seemed rude. But I chalk this up to everyone has a bad day every now and again. I have been to Cozumel numerous times and stayed at a few different places. But I have found a home away from home at the Allegro. I highly recommend this hotel.

I read a lot of reviews before going here and I knew what to expect. That being said I am the type of person that goes for the beach and this beach is GORGEOUS! I couldn’t stop looking and taking pictures of the aquamarine water! I have never swam so much in my life, take goggles or a snorkel set. However they have them there also to check out. The sunsets were amazing. The pool is very clean and spacious. The drinks at the bar are good and they make whatever you want and I hardly ever had to wait. I read some reviews where people got sick and unfortunately my husband was one of those confined to the room for a few days with nausea and diarrhea. I ate everything on the buffet and drank the water and was fine. Our air conditioner worked too good! But the rooms are still slightly musty just from the humidity. We had some rain and our roof leaked a little but we just threw down some towels. They do have ants that are attracted to sweet so don’t leave your pina colada out. There are a lot of reviews complaining about food. I am not picky and I was never hungry. Always found something good on the buffet whether chicken and potatoes or chicken nuggets and French fries. Great French toast and yogurt bar. The oriental restaurant was amazing! Get your reservations early!!! My only other complaint is no umbrellas on the beach. Patchy shade with palm trees but I would have liked an umbrella. I was ready to book this place again and would like to come back with my adult children!

We stayed here with our two teenagers. It was our first time at an AI. Food- Our first impressions were not good concerning the food. But we learned what to eat and what not to eat and we didn’t go hungry. Always check what they are fixing fresh on the grill in the back at the breakfast and dinner buffet. We found this more appetizing than what was on the buffet. The lunch buffet was my least favorite. I would recommend eating somewhere off the resort as much as possible for lunch. The “snack” times are just leftover lunch and dinner. The restaurants were overall pretty good. You are limited to how many reservations you can make based on how long you stay. Beach- The beach is sandy and easy access to the water. There’s no coral in swimming area and so snorkeling is not good. But we did see a few small stingrays and a few random fish. Entertainment- Morning and afternoon activities were limited to sport activities for the most part. Our kids really enjoyed these but if we didn’t have our kids with us we probably wouldn’t have participated. We didn’t do the night activities because they didn’t start until 9 and we are not night owls. Rooms- we stayed in the “family room”. Which was just 2 connecting rooms. The rooms were decent, beds decent and I felt cleaning staff did a good job. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will go back again.

It’s an older hotel it’s stuck in the 70s could use an upgrade, the beach is beautiful the rooms are clean but old. Stains on the walls and peeling paint. It’s not the best hotel I’ve stayed in but the service was great, the food was just ok. The restaurants are ok but can only book 2 the entire stay and you can’t change them. The entertainment was terrible not a lot to do with the kids, the air hockey table and pool table are from the 60s just falling apart. The spa was actually the highlight of my vacation, very relaxing.

We had a fantastic week at Allegro. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, the room was cozy, but very comfortable, and the property was fantastic. We loved the pools and beach and the nightly shows were always entertaining. The a la carte restaraunts were delicious and we always found something we liked at the buffets. We hope to come back soon!

The staff was really nice. The resort was nice; however, it needs major updates. The ventilation system is poor. The doors have huge cracks underneath, allowing rodents and frogs to enter the rooms. The water doesn't get hot at all, only warm. Other than that, the food was great. The people were really friendly. It was definitely a family resort. However, the rooms need major updates; they had a really awful odor in the rooms. I actually had to switch rooms when I first got there because the air didn't work, and the room smelled horrible.

You have to bring a lot of small bills for tips. Tips are expected at every turn. They do not give change for American currency either. So when you shop, you have to be exact or use a card. Also, I did get sick from the food and so did a three of my friends. We did not eat off the resort.
