Terrible experience from start to finish
Received awful service throughout stay. Paid for Premium room. Hotels.com booking site listed a bath/shower. After booking non-refundable price, a message from Holiday Inn said room booked did not have a bath. Asked to be moved to room with bath. No one from Holiday Inn made me aware at the time that this would mean a room 'down grade' but price I'd pay for the standard room would still be what I'd paid for Premium room/not adjusted to reflect down grade. After seeing new standard room I had to walk out and request the initial room without bath because I could not stay in room they put me in because there were no lights? The actual ceiling lights were not working & instead the room had only a few lamps so the room was very dark and dingy. There were also none of the premium facilities I had paid for ie. coffee machine. Had issues with regards to the room service menu. Kept getting conflicting answers from staff. Every time I tried to order something I was told it wasn't on the menu/menu was old which left both me and my daughter (vegetarians) with very little choice. I thought children ate free so why did I pay for my 10 year olds dinner? Breakfasts were terrible due to understaffing on Sun and Mon. No clean tables, cutlery etc. On Mon we did not even eat breakfast because there were no tables free. Was a large sports group staying there who occupied every table. So paid for meal I never ate. The coach also blocked all disabled parking spaces so I lost my disabled parking too
