We booked a quad room for over the Christmas Holiday. When we checked into the room, it smelled like a sewer exploded. The only other room they had was a room with NO bathroom. We had to share the staff restroom. I decided to check into a different hotel in this neighborhood so we could shower and feel SAFE.
I beg you DO NOT STAY at this hotel. If I had the choice to sleep in a train station or at this hotel, I would be pretty hard to decide to go back to this place.
STAY AWAY.
BTW- I travel around the world and stay in manner different styles of hotels and take reviewers with a grain of salt. I WISH I listened to the past comments and decided to go somewhere else.
Check in seemed to much trouble for the man on reception, very vague description of room number no location given or directions to amenities, no bin or AC remote the room was really warm with no window, which we already knew about!
Toilet was named staff toilet was a toilet crammed in the corner with a tiny sink and cupboard overhead so you couldn't wash etc
Was titled a budget room but for what we paid expected a bit more than we got, very overpriced in my opinion, check out didn't get any friendlier the housekeepers all seemed happy and smiley. Thumbs up to them.

Flilty hotel but bedding clean and for the price happy to stay this time but wouldn’t again Great location
Rude front desk staff. I phoned up before I checked in to confirm and ask some details. The man I spoke to on the phone was unbelievably rude and after about a minute of conversation, told me he was busy and put the phone down. Zero effort was made to accommodate. Trust me, this place is just a very uncomfortable roof to shelter you only if you're desperate for a place. It isn't even that cheap and I would tell anyone to avoid this place like the plague.
We book a quad and when we got there on Christmas morning they gave us a room with 4 beds in it. The room could barely fit 3 beds in it. But they placed a 4th bed in it. There was 5 inches of walking space between the beds. The room had a foul order of a mixture of vomit and back up sewer. We asked to be placed in a different room. They gave us a room in the basement when first looking at it was GREAT. They we noticed we had to share the staff shower and public toilet. None of the electrical outlets in the room worked and the TV did not turn on.
I asked to be placed in a room in which we booked and the manager on staff said there was no other room. I found a different hotel two blocks away for the night so we could shower and charge our phones. Upon our arrival back to the St. Joseph's they gave as a different room in which the order was NOT as bad but was still present.
This hotel was nothing like what was pictured! We arrived and saw how dirty and outdated the place was and wanted to cancel, but they wouldn’t give us a refund. We then contacted Expedia and even they couldn’t convince the management to give us a refund. The customer service was terrible! Our room was filled with stains on the wall, floor, and bed. The room was the size of a closet and half the lights didn’t work. There was also mold on some of the furniture!! You only get one room key, have to pay for WiFi, and there is no elevator. I really do not recommend going here!!
No heating, radiator not working and when asked for help I was told they would find electric heaters. I returned from an evening out a few hours later to be told the chap on desk knew nothing about heaters. After a few trips back and forth to reception to check in progress of finding heaters it was clear the chap couldn’t be bothered to come and tell me they couldn’t find any and with a shrug of shoulder said there is none. I reminded him it’s December and we were in a basement room. Again a shrug of shoulder.
He said that he would call a hotel close by to see if they had any heaters.
I then noticed some heaters down a corridor, he was surprised about them considering he said they didn’t have any. Anyway I took one, there was no electric testing stickers on plugs and one socket I tried to plug it into wouldn’t let me push plug in. Eventually some heat.
The room is very poor a picture frame on the wall with half the frame missing. However I didn’t pay much for room as only needed a bed for night. But I did expect heating.
Firstly, we chose the option to pay at the hotel. The receptionist took the money off my card without permission before I arrived. I worked as a receptionist before and I know you can check the card is valid, but not take the money unless the person doesn't arrive etc. and we had let the hotel know in advance we were coming late evening. Secondly we got a bad vibe off the receptionist as he was just staring at us, not letting us know whether he started with the check in or not. Had to cough and ask if everything was okey with our booking after an uncomfortable moment of silence and being stared at. Only hotel I've ever felt like I should have brought something to stop the door from opening from the inside. Beds itself was fine and clean. Carpet was dirty and bathroom was disgusting.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The toilet slow to drain. Staff isnt very welcoming when u have concerns and queries.
Hotel is very old, very noisy and very dirty. Floor squeaks when walk in room. They entered and cleaned room even if I put Do not disturb label.A lot of squeaks from stairs and also a lot of noises from lobby and hall. There is no table in room. Pillows and bed sheets were not fresh. Personal from reception is rude.
Beware, not feeling safe day or night! Window doesn’t lock and someone can slide up your window. Someone can easily go down the ungated steps and have access to any of these rooms on the lower ground level.
They provide a safe but it doesn’t have batteries to run.
Room was very unsanitary with the stained walls and carpet.
Heating doesn’t work. Bed slopes into the middle
Rooms don’t provide hairdryers so make sure you ask early otherwise none will be available, WiFi is not free and leaving baggage will cost you per item.
I have never been to a hotel which charges such fees, goto another hotel which costs the same because its not hard to compete with this one.
Rude staff and non attentive, they answer the phone and waste time having a good chat with friends while there’s a queue or while they are helping customers.
