We travelled during new years and everything was closed, I think the hotel should do a better job of understanding what is open for guests. The location was a tad far to walk to the train station which was a negative. The Onsen was outstanding though and the rooms were very comfortable

For the location, it is very convenient. A lot of eateries near by and shopping centers as well. Only down side there was a small air leak on the corner window which made the room colder. Other than that, it was fine.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka! The hotel was really nice and after getting used to the traditions, we loved going to the sento/Trinite baths every day. It's a bit of a walk from the Osaka train stations, but in January we were still able to stay underground for almost all of the eay there. Fair warning - when visiting the Umeda underground routes be ready to be lost as it's very convoluted and busy, so it's easy to get confused. The hotel and staff on the other hand made the stay fantastic.

Super happy we booked this hotel. The room was a great size, especially compared to those generally found in Tokyo. The king-sized bed was comfortable, the shower was big and allowed my husband (6’1”) to stand all the way up, and the amenities were plenty. I’d certainly book here again.
