Worst hotel possible
Hotel well situated but otherwise awful service. Stay away there are much better hotels just next door. A hot room, window broken, old squashed coffee and tea sachets, an archaic fixed shower button we couldn’t use. Unfriendly staff except the car guys and Delia on the desk. A trainee girl who just wants money but has zero client attitude just a hypocritical smile. We went for off site parking because there is no encouragement so you have to precook elsewhere. In actual fact the two guys looking after the car park are the only two humans I met there! Leaving on Saturday 3rd we were not even told all the roads would be closed all day. We luckily found out ourselves and had to bale out without breakfast before seven. Absolutely no interest in their clients. I asked if we could bring our car to their empty garage the night before so we could get off quicker. The answer was no of course. In a unique situation you should make an effort for your clients. Anyway apart from the situation it’s decrepit and apparently just run by money makers with clients as just numbers. Breakfast is low quality bacon sausage etcetera Go out and into the lanes! Our room was to the side and as other reviewers said it is constantly noisy all night with hotel deliveries next door. Find something else!

The hotel was old and in need of refurbishment. The room were clean and bed comfortable but the bathroom very old. The shower was very difficult to turn off and taps needed a strong hand to turn on and full close. Our room looked over the sea but also over the main road and bar. As the room did not have air conditioning, the window was slightly opened to allow the room to cool down. As a result, arguments in the street and early morning bin men/cleaners made a lot of noise and caused a disturbed nights sleep

Poor.
No air con or fans, room was sweltering! Window opened a few cm and the bin men came at 5am waking us up. Couldn’t wake to get out of the room. Poor.

Great location.
Reception staff great. Some bar staff a tad miserable. Mattress a little uncomfy but generally a good hotel. Nice breakfast. Great location and nice to sit out at the front with a drink. I think the location is what you’re paying for more than the quality of the hotel. It was fine for what we required

King bedded room ok but rather disappointing
Most of the staff were great, although no one asked if I’d enjoyed my stay! The room was comfortable and looked inviting. It was good to have an iron and ironing board. I had a good view of the street which I enjoyed, however I often had to draw the curtains as I was in full view! Bed and bathroom were clean, but the carpet and chair were a bit grubby. The drinking glasses were not clean and one appeared to have red juice on the inside - I did complain about this and I had clean glasses for the rest of my 3 night stay. Unfortunately the lift was out of order one day which was a nuisance and not their fault, but it was mended quickly. The position is central, near the pier and shops which is perfect. Often stay here and am usually very satisfied.

Great base for the sea front . Not the most modern hotel but this reflects the lower price point. We had a quiet night not too noisy- which is not often the case in Brighton. Really used this as a base to sleep and did not spend too much time in the hotel. The check in process was slow - we did arrive at peak time ie 3.15 and we waited for about 30 minutes - this could be improved or perhaps offering guests a water bottle etc while they are waiting. This is a nice touch other hotels have done .

Room was extremely poor, dirty floors and bathroom, big gap at bottom of bathroom door. Didn’t even close properly and no lock. Beds not made properly so mattress was exposed.

The staff were amazing both days so friendly and great to talk to. The benches outside were lovely and right by the coast, they had a live singer there both days we stayed and was a lovely touch. The room was good for two and had all we needed lovely experience. No longer than a 10 minute walk into the town centre and plenty to do near and around the hotel.

The hotel is very dated and in need of refurbishment. It was clean and the staff were all great. It’s a great location, on the seafront and the outside seating area is lovely. The drinks were reasonably priced. The price we paid was reasonable for the time of year and compared to other seafront hotels but I certainly wouldn’t return in a hurry!
