Lovely hotel but some little things were never fixed despite requests like flashing phone light stuck on 3 nights, plugs did not work , half tv channels not tuned in … minor issues but they distracted and annoyed . Taxis wouldn’t come down road so had to walk to top of street . Staff really helpful otherwise and it’s great location

Rude staff, high prices, odd building.
My heavily pregnant wife arrived 30 minutes early and asked if it was possible to check in early or if they had private meeting facilities. She was told there would be a £50 charge to check in 30 minutes early and that there were no private meeting facilities. Not only was this not true but also hugely discourteous. We were directed to our room which was up 2 seperate elevators due to being in seemingly a seperate building (The Printwoks?) hugely confusing layout paired with initial check-in which involved around 6 staff chatting while we waited to finally get checked in long after the check-in date. After walking past some of the rooms it was obvious the opportunity to switch our room (on the 9th floor) was entirely untrue but also after getting lost in the confusing second lift to the exit on the 2nd floor we found the private meeting rooms also. Room was clean and looked modern and well furnished although half the channels on the TV did not work. When waiting in the lobby following checkout my wife asked for some soda water which came to £5.50. When enquiring how such a price was arrived at she was told that coke is also £5.50. This justification is abhorent to me. Beautiful building marred by poor management, unhelpful staff and confusing layout, presumably due to corporate greed.Will not stay at a Clayton Hotel again.

We stayed at the Clayton’s in order to help our child settle into uni. It was so convenient.. walking distance to her dorm. The area is safe. The staff is very helpful. I will definitely stay again when I return.

Travelled down for a wedding so we were only there for a couple of days but the rooms we so clean and comfortable plus breakfast was no hassle and easy to navigate would definitely stay here again

The ladies at reception were so so lovely and very helpful! They upgraded us because we were here celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. We also had some chocolate a voucher for 2 free drinks, a little congratulations card and a beautiful towel swan display on the bed. We booked to stay an extra night and they helped us move our booking around so we could stay in the same room both nights and we arrange late checkout. Our room is really lovely. Very clean, huuuge comfy clean bed! We had a coffee machine and the coffees were delicious and we had a fridge with a few complimentary drinks and snacks. This is our second visit and we will definitely be staying here again!!
