Catalonia is the best resort in Costa Mujeres, the staff is awesome and the food is incredible let’s of options. The beach is beautiful white sand lots of space on the beach that you can relax and enjoy the sun. Everyone that’s going to read this review Please took some ones in cash so you can Tip the workers they work hard so we can really enjoy our stay.

plenty of dining options, not all food was amazing but the entertainment was great and the beach was beautiful. just no palapas on the beach so u really cant be there all day. pool beds get reserved at 6am and ppl steal your spots. alot of entitled people here who can get very aggressive with that as well as aggressive and pushy at the buffet. its the crowd. not a party resort only family.

My family and I has a wonderful time here. Everything was amazing for us. They had a good amount of restaurants we didn’t try all of them but from what we had I rate it a solid 7.8/10. The room service food didn’t have much options but it worked for us. They had lunch restaurants from noon till about 5:30pm and the crepe one was my fav. We went for Labor Day weekend and it was not over crowded at all. We ended up upgrading to the privileged swim up suite and it was worth it. I would certainly come back!

Great property. Just minor incidents where the electrical kept going off in my room. They just kept turning on the breaker and it kept happening. The fact that the property is far from the night life district there is lack of entertainment at the pool and at night. The restaurant reservations is a joke. They have many restaurant on site but the capacity not enough for the amount of people staying at the property. Was there for 7 nights and could only 3 of them. Everything was booked. So I was obligated to eat at the buffet. Now on the good side, the attention is A plus, the beach is gorgeous. And the rooms are spacious. Will i stay there again? I dont think i would.

Very clean and beautiful place, everything within the walking distance. Friendly and helpful staff, always a pleasure to deal with them. The resort is non-smoking. There are a lot of lovely sitting areas inside and outside that are rarely used. It would've been nice to have one or two of those areas dedicated for smoking, otherwise people have to go outside almost past the security gate. The room layout is great, with a separate area for the luggage and clothes. The guests are asked to not have any bathing clothes or towels on the balconies, however, there is only one clothes line in the shower where it takes forever to dry anything. More hooks inside the room would be much appreciated, as well as stronger vents in both shower and toilet stalls.

This resort is really amazing. Best all inclusive I have stayed in the Caribbean. The decor of the hotel is very stylish and up to date. Service is outstanding, suites are very spacious with a separate area for a living space and bunk beds (which the kids love!) The food options are also outstanding. For lunch there is Mexican, American, Italian, Mediterranean and Peruvian cuisine in addition to the buffet. Other all inclusive I visited before didn't have as many options for lunch and Peruvian food??? With Peruvian cuisine being considered best in the world two years in a row, this is a real treat that most don't offer. The entertaining at night is fun and well presented. Their theater is state of the arts and the dancers are very professional. They have a Disney, Broadway, Caribbean shows right at 9pm. There is a main area called 5th avenue where most lunch restaurants and shopping are located. They also have some fun and stylish rocking loungers there. Two pools with swim up bars, one of which is built with darker tile, giving a lagoon vibe, super cool. We are beach lovers and this area was perfect. Beautiful beach with calm, turquoise waters, sargassum free. Highly recommend. I am very hard to impress but this place exceeded my expectations.

The hotel ground is astonishing but definitely needs more staff and lots of staff training! Let’s talk about the hotel: 1.This is the first EVER hotel I been to insist of check in at 3pm. I found out later there’s “early check” in with a fee. But when I was checking in the front desk never mention a word and told me to wait it out. I traveled with 9 kiddies arrived at hotel at 11am and we seriously waited till 3:15pm to get our rooms. 2. They need MORE staffs! There’s 2 large pools at the hotel but there’s only 2 servers per pool. Every time we wanted drinks we have to go to the bar and waited in the long lines since there’s not enough hands at the bar too. Not to mention the beach where I spend most of my days at. I learned after day 2 if I wanted to go to the beach it’s better off I ordered my drinks and bring them down myself since there’s almost never servers down there. 3. For those traveling with kiddos; kids club. This is one of the uttermost important things when I’m looking for when booking for my vacation. Hey I’m here for my VACATION! That means kids club is somewhere I can drop off my kids and have 3-4 hours me time. This is the first kids club my sons told me the staffs are “mean”. My 9 years old told me one day the staff told them to clean up the kids club by picking up all the garbages and sweep the floor whoever did the most work would be the winner. My son refused to participate and was told he will be unwelcome in here the next day. My kids all hated there.

Overall experience is good, however, the grill restaurant provided the worst service we’ve experienced during our stay. They had a booking after our party, so they rushed us. Didn’t provide a menu, just gave us what they think is quick, took our plates even when we’re not finished.

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Resort was clean, spacious, and very pretty. Rooms were very nice. Entertainment was good. Only drawback to this resort was needing dinner reservations for many of the restaurants were hard to get. Reservations were only available to be made upon arrival and opened 2-3 days in advance and were already booked.

Beach was beautiful. Just nothing to do at night at all on the resort. Not the Mexico I’m used to. If you have dinner reservations after 9 the staff is literally running and rushing so they can close the restaurant. Police and national guard on the beach 24/7 so we felt safe. It was relaxing and the staff at the pool and bars were very pleasant and friendly. Just dead silence after 9p throughout the resort. There’s iguanas on the property just walking around not bothering anyone, and one of the workers sprayed one several times with cleaning products in its face and eyes, causing it to run away hurt , and my children and I were mortified. Although the property was very pretty I wouldn’t return.
