We arrived late due to our trains and our room was over looking the main road so very noisy. I asked to move rooms which they did and this room opened onto the car park with only one small window. As we were staying 3 nights the hotel very kindly moved us to a larger room in the main building the next day which was much more comfortable. Staff were very helpful and breakfast was good

Very good stay once again
Friendly staff upon arrival and easy check in. Lovely room on the third floor. My only gripes were the air conditioning unit was feeble and noisy and the shower was very weak.

The layout of the property is labyrinthine and there was litter in the drawers of the room, the table was dusty, there were stains on the bed and towels, fixings falling off the wall and the windows were filthy. However, the staff were so great and helpful!

Ok at the price.
Some condition issues with the bathroom in particular- wall fixings not great. Breakfast fine, although no offer of anything other than the buffet. Taxis were tricky to get promptly (but it was race day). Creakiest floors ever in bedroom.

Disappointing considering the price!
The hotel and room/bathroom was clean, our room including bathroom needed painting, lots of scuff marks etc. Our room key did not work on several occasions, so we had to take the long trek from our room to reception - I understand the battery needing changing but this was not changed while we where there. Although our room was on the first floor we had to up and down stairs twice - strange layout of rooms! Would be difficult with someone with walking/climbing stairs issue but we where not informed of this.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay here, great location to the shambles and town centre. The hotel itself is getting a little tired, carpets & decor is looking very dirty in the rooms and hallways. Compared to other Double Tree Hilton hotels we have stayed in this is no way on the same level. The room we stayed in (224) was too warm, the air conditioning unit didn't seem to make any difference to the temperature of the room so made it a little uncomfortable at night. It was overlooking the main road and the double glazed door didn't completely block all of the traffic noise out, was woken very early hours by cars.
