Disappointing stay, different room to booking
Really disappointing stay. Booked for a birthday trip, we were between two hotels to book in Brighton and chose the Hilton specifically to have a balcony room. Upon check in we were made to feel unwelcome by the lady on the front desk who was very cold and didn’t raise a smile once. When we got to our room we were extremely disappointed to see it had no balcony, so immediately called to see what was going on. Apparently there was an issue with the original room we were meant to have and no other balcony rooms were available, so we had been placed here instead. We felt really let down that this had not been communicated to us at check in or prior to our stay, rather than having to discover it for ourselves when entering the room. We were promised a follow up email from the hotel regarding the situation, which still hasn’t arrived - again, extremely disappointing. The room in question had two small sash windows, one of which didn’t close properly so the room was very cold and noisy throughout the night. There was also a large wall between the windows so the room itself was very dark, in stark contrast to the room we had booked. We were so looking forward to enjoying the views of Brighton from our balcony, so the whole stay felt like a huge let down from start to finish. I would not return to this hotel based on the experience we had.

Reception staff really helpful. I was charged twice and my booking couldn’t be found. Manager was constantly busy so would not come to meet me to discuss. Just passed on a message to blame external party for charging me twice and external party advising hotel needs to refund me. But management did not come to see me. Restaurant staff got my drink order wrong 4 times then got our complete food order totally wrong kids were so hungry we just left in the end. Only book this hotel if you just want to sleep as customer service is awful

Great hotel, not great parking.
Lovely hotel, room and bathroom clean and modern. Aircon very effective. There was considerable noise from neighbouring rooms taps, talking and doors, but corridor sounds muted well by thick doors. We needed to use the hotels parking facilities which really require their own review. They are dirty with unspecified liquid puddles throughout and very very tight spaces. Parking in Brighton is very expensive but for the cost and for a hotel dedicated parking it could easily be improved with a little investment.

Very friendly welcome and fantastic reception staff. Especially the French lady, sorry i can't remember your name. Great choice at breakfast, fantastic location. Room wasnt cleaned but the chambermaid did give us fresh towels and teas and coffees. Room was good, bathroom a little tired.

Reception service was very long winded, and took quite a while to book in and check out.on many occasions there were more than 10 or 12 waiting with only one or two max at rhe desk, other than that it was a great stay.

Staff were outstanding welcoming helpful kind very impressive Could do with some soundproofing in front facing rooms traffic noise and corridor noise on 1st floor is significant Spa needs updating tired and changing rooms weren't the best didn't feel that clean but think it was just tired However beautiful rooms clean and well serviced I would recommend

This hotel is beautiful, clean, spacious, amazing beds and super comfortable room, loved everything about it! The breakfast was excellent, friendly service and the location is perfect t water front with a short walk to The Lanes. Highly recommend it!

Lovely location and hotel has a grand feel to it. Check in time (4pm) seems very late if you’re only visiting the area for 24hrs, not able to check in slightly earlier without incurring £25 fee! Hotel clean but pool area needed attention. Staff friendly but slow in bar area and reception - often found one person working with a queue of 5 people.

We stayed in the hotel for two nights and that was not comfortable as I’m afraid the air conditioning is very poor. We tried calling to reception to ask if any fan or ventilation is available but never got anyone to pick up the phone. Hotel is beautiful and very clean but I’m afraid we had a terrible experience with the reservation and turn out they can only provide us 1 room but we have a booking with 2 connecting rooms. I called directly to hotel enquiries about the connecting rooms for my family(2 adults,3kids& a baby) in March. I was suggested by the reservation team that I should have booked 2 queen rooms and I asked if I can booked through hotels.com they said Yes! They reminded me to put a remark and message them for the connecting rooms requested. I then followed their advice booking 2 queens rooms and put remark and sent them message. And I got a reply which they had made the note! I called again and see if anything was missing and I then got confirmation by them verbally. Unfortunately, I was told my booking was not connecting rooms and rooms fully booked. It was a nightmare as we have to looked after children so that I booked 5 months of n advance but turn out I got nothing. After 1.5hrs wait, reception manager advised a similar king room to us by adding sofa bed, rollaway bed and travel cot in one room for 6 of us. And she promised a refund for one room will be made. We have no choices tbh as kids were tired after 5 hrs journey.

The Hilton in Brighton is normally excellent and have stayed many times but unfortunately this time it let itself down. Staff are great but for my 3 night stay in a very expensive sea view room the Aircon broke and was leaking water into the room on the probably hottest few days. Hotels resolution was a single fan in the room to circulate already hot air. I am sure they will do better in the future as it's a great hotel, they just let themselves down on this occasion.

Amazing hotel with excellent facilities. The staff were always professional and very helpful! Beautiful breakfast, the kids enjoyed the pool which we had access at anytime. Overall we had an excellent time.

Staff helpful changing first rooms to walk in shower from bath. Unable to rectify aircon limited minimum setting 18° but provided a oscillating floor fan. General cleanliness of room could have been better ie finger marks not cleaned off front surfaces of furniture.
