Love The Convenience of This Hotel
I was flying in to Heathrow the night before to depart on an early flight the next day and although there are many good hotels at Heathrow I love the convenience of being able to walk from the hotel direct to British Airways check in, in terminal 5. I have stayed here before the hotel is comfortable with a good range of eating options and I had a nice dinner in the bar watching the football. The staff on reception and in the bar were friendly and helpful and although the public areas are still nice the age of the hotel is starting to show in the rooms with a few marks, chips showing.

New management experience?
I've been staying at this hotel for many, many years. It's super convenient and, historically, friendly to travelers. Sofitel is a reliable source of solid, higher-end accommodations. Not to be confused with a 5-star hotel but very good. Unfortunately, there has been a steady decline in the experience over the past few years, as though a new management team has embraced new-age capitalism (unbundle the services and charge independently for all of them and/or cut costs wherever possible). Clearly, this is a trend - airlines being some of the best travel examples. My most recent experience was enough to make me reconsider future visits. The room had a strong stale odor (as though the air conditioning had been off for days). There were numerous signs of deferred maintenance and cost-cutting. So why pay the Sofitel rate for an average stay? Might as well go into the city or pay less for average. All I can say is lower your expectations.

Again! But I love it
I ended up having to book the room as my flight had been so delayed and was treated so very well by everyone! The room was stellar anf the minibar had some complimentary drinks which made the worries melt away (the hot bubblebath helped with that too!) Check out was smooth and I did a few hours of work at the lovely and relaxing Tea 5 where Dipa and Clinton made me feel welcomed and cared for. I love this hotel.

As always the Sofitel is my favourite place to stay in London. Convenient, calm and patient staff, especially Gursharn who checked me in so quickly and competently and Jose who treats everyone like they are family in the Sphere Bar. So restful to be there no matter the time of year.

Lovely stay!
Lovely and convenient to the airport. I would have preferred a room allocated closer to the tunnel to the airport, as this was a while away. I do also wish that small plates/nibbles were available at the bar also. However in spite of this would happily stay here again!

We walked off our flight in Terminal 5 and stayed here for the night. Super convenient. Staff was helpful and the breakfast was great with many options to choose from. Highly recommend
