On arrival, we were asked if we would be happy with a room with a walk-in shower, rather than one with a bath. We said we would be. We are both fit and mobile, will no visible signs to suggest otherwise. Therefore, on entering our room, rather than finding a standard walk-in shower, we were extremely disappointed to discover we had been allocated disabled accommodation, with all that entails. The special adaptations took some time for us to become accustomed to, and contributed to us not bothering to use the hotel's dining and bar facilities. Had we chosen a room with a bath, our enjoyment of the hotel would have been much better

Primary reason for an airport hotel should be easy access to it. There is only one single sign for this hotel in the entire Terminal 5 of LHR. It is extremely difficult to figure out how to get to the hotel once you are in the terminal. The room numbering starting with sections first, rather than the floor number, and where the directional signs are located are additional challenges.

Parking is a nightmare, but thats a heathrow airport problem, rather than a sofitel issue. The hotel is really nice, friendly staff, with nice facilities. Great hotel for instant access to the airport at t5.

A Joke from Start to Finish
First of all, deceptive roadsignes leading you to a compulsory GBP9 parking charge, rather than a sign routing you to a free dropoff location. Then a 'Bell Boy Mafia", who stopped me from using a trolley. On to a Check-in staff member who ignored my wife, who was checking-in, and only spoke to me when I arrived. Expensive. Unfriendly. Impolite.

Great place to stay while in transit but the hotel bar has a very odd way of serving food. Get rid of the wooden boards ands use proper plates Eating a 6 inch high hamburger off a 4 inch wide board is not recommended and nor is serving fried fish in a wire basket. Please think these through before continuing these practices.
