Friendly service. Bad execution
I will say the staff was friendly but execution was poor aside from vallet and bell. Arrived an hour early but room wasn’t ready until almost an hour after checkin. Was comp’d 75 at the restaurant bar but was completely ignored as the staff sat at the other end of the bar socializing with each other. I sat there in front of an empty beer and menu for almost 20 minutes before a cook from the kitchen noticed me and said something to the front of the house. Upon checkin I requested a room furthest from the elevators but was put in a room closest to. Internet access was down in the morning. Not a good experience on the last leg of my vacation.

Staff was incredible! Very nice, safe and clean place to stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to the LA area. All tourist areas are readily accessible via Uber.

The location to the beach is good. What I didn’t like was: -the $108 per day that isn’t disclosed until you get there for parking and the resort fee. Paying $58 per day to have a valet person park it around the side of the building is more than excessive. Even with that, the system for notifying them to pull your car around was not working so I ended up waiting 10 minutes for somebody to have time to go get it. - the quality of the bedding was way below expectations for this price point. The pillows are as flat as can be and the quality of the sheets is what you’d expect at a two star hotel. -the size of the room is very small even with the upgrade that was offered me.

They made us too dependent on them for water, coffee, parking, everything was set up to cost us more. No coffee in room, but could get a cup downstairs for $7.00 each, parking overnight was ridiculously overpriced, and they never told us we could park elsewhere.

My second stay at the Viceroy Santa Monica. Great property and great service! Only improvements would be to have a mini bar, Nespresso machine a kettle, and slippers in the room (atm you have to ask for slippers to be delivered to your room).

We had a great time. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Close to the beach and walkable to shopping and dining options. The rooms and facilities were clean. They did advertise a heated pool and it was a little bit on the chilly side, but we did try and use it in October, which may have been our downfall

Parking was very expensive given the public parking nearby. Also I found it particularly bizarre that there was not any coffee available aside from the $7 a cup in the lobby at 6:30am and the in room pot upon request that was very old. a small upgrade here would go a long way from a customer service standpoint.

The hotel said they couldn’t allow us to check in early unless we wanted to pay $50 but then at 2:30 I saw rh allow multiple guests early check in so when I asked she then said I could check in (check in is at 3 and I originally arrived at 2). There were gnats in our room and when I asked to switch rooms there were still gnats. They said it had been remodeled but our sink was cracked and there was a mini step in the bathroom which could really stub a toe. I was excited to come back to the viceroy after several years but I won’t be returning, unfortunately.

Property was very well located and the pool area was lovely. Our friends traveling with us took advantage of the bicycles provided which was really nice. Bar and restaurant on site was convenient and staff very friendly. My only complaint is that I mentioned my VIP status with Expedia upon check in and didn’t receive any of the benefits which was supposed to be a room upgrade and 2 beverages. Other than that the rooms were nice and we especially loved the large remodeled bathroom. ocean view room had a somewhat obstructed view and I think the higher levels would have provided better view (we stayed on 5th floor).
