I like the Kimpton Alton and we recommend it to a of our clients but I am surprised by some of the things that are missing. For instance, there is no coffee machine or hot water kettle in the room and there is not one single hook to hang a bath towel. Also, there is no full length mirror.

From the moment we entered the property, Ed at the front desk greeted us with a smile. He was attentive, courteous, and friendly. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and our anniversary. They ensured we were taken good care of. Our room was sufficient for the stay. Every staff member we encountered was friendly. The property was clean and located near the fisherman's wharf.

This hotel was a great surprise. It’s quiet and clean, and only a block from Pier 39. Everything you need is in walkable distance. The staff was friendly and helpful. Every afternoon there is a happy hour with free wine and beer. I did not try the restaurant but the menu looked interesting. I definitely would stay there again.

Mediocre Option
Booked two rooms for one night for cruise. Horrible view and hotel seems run down and somewhat outdated. Service was great at counter but nothing special to make me want to stay there again.

Great stay at the Kimpton Alton! Staff were very helpful with anything we needed and it was convenient having a top restaurant in the lobby. Valet parking was very expensive so we ended up parking in one of the garages down the street for 1/3 of the price.
