Had a wonderful time at the Riu resort celebrating a 50th birthday with our friends. We asked for a late check out which was granted. Everyone was nice and approachable. I would say that two things could be improved. One the food options for vegetarians. The dinners were much nicer than the breakfast and lunch. I would also say that your recreation could be a bit more organized. The games were not on time and not alot of encouragement with excitement. There were a few fun ones with big smiles.

Our vacation at Riu Palace Pacifico was great! We loved the food, pools and swim up bar, restaurants, junior suite, and coffee place. The amenities on the beach were convenient and really fun. We rode horses, got massages right on the beach, and walked to a turtle release happening 15 minutes down the beach. The coffee place was awesome! The only thing we didn't like is that Expedia told us we had a $500 resort credit. We had hoped we could use this credit to use the hotel spa (which had outrageous prices) but when we spoke to the front desk staff they provided us with a coupon code to use in the Riu app which only gave us $10-$15 coupons towards different activities and spa treatments. This was a big disappointment and felt a bit like a scam. All the staff were really great except one front desk guy who seemed annoyed by our questions.

The resort was great, clean, food delicious and staff friendly. Some hiccups here and there but over all a great experience. I would say that the majority of the guests were between 45-60 that’s what you can expect. Don’t go to the steak house, long line even before they open, food is not worth the wait and they don’t take reservations. Last thing is pools and beach. Pools are very boring just 2 rectangular pools with 1 very small swim up bar… beach was not the best when compared to other places. A lot of people selling stuff and constantly approaching you, too many horses on the beach.

Highly recommend! RIU in Nueva Vallarta (30 min from PVR) was an excellent adults only all inclusive resort. They offered outstanding service, delicious food in several restaurants (Steakhouse is a must with Surf & Turf), & White Party & Foam Party! So if you're wanting louder & more fun swim bar & music etc then visit this RIU. And, if you're wanting quieter pool to feed read books, etc then also visit this RIU. Highly recommend! On the flip side, beach is beautiful but water is too murky for snorkeling or scuba. Book excursions for those adventures.

I have been to many Riu hotels. This one the food was terrible. The quality was 1 star. The recipes had no taste. For example, there was a crab bisque soup, which was tomato sause and pieces crab floating. like little Ceasar’s pizza was better than the pizza there. The lettuce was old; the deserts looked great but no taste! Overall the food was aweful.

There was a group of 37 women who were allowed to reserve 37 lounges at the bar pool with towels. When I arrived at 8 a.m no one was there so I moved one of the towels. (They had taken all the lounges in the sun). Soon after the leader of the group started a huge fight, then all her friends arrived and all ganged up on me. They called security who explained to them that they weren't allowed to reserve lounges. It continued for 30 minutes of these bullies harassing me and telling me how they hate white people. The harassment and bullying continued the rest of my trip (four more days) and almost escalated into a physical confrontation. 15 of them were extremely drunk and gathered around me. I'm an older lady and wanted to beat me up. There needs to be signs about reserving lounges and the rule needs to be enforced without the client having to complain. I absolutely loved the resort but this ruined my vacation. I've talked about this with 20,000 on my YouTube channel and you're getting a LOT of bad press.

The property is beautiful and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff in all areas. Our only disappointment was the food, primarily the buffet. Not as many options as was expected snd some of options were a bit bland. The Mexician and Italian restaurants were very good. We didn’t get a chance to try the steak restaurant because the wait was always too long. We also enjoyed the food at the Sports Bar and the fact that it was open 24 hours a day. Overall we had a great vacation and will definitely stay at Riu resorts again.
