The room was comfortable although a vacuum cleaner was left out in the open next to the bed, but nothing I would raise a fuss over.There was a loud (banging on drums and noisemakers) organized strike going on at the hotel across the street, but I don't fault The Handlery for that. Despite the minor issues, I would come back. The staff (concierge and housekeeping) were very nice.

Solid hotel option around Union Square. Walking distance to a few dining and shopping spots. Room was clean, spacious, and I like that it has A/C. Bed was comfortable and it was quiet in the evening. Will definitely stay again.

I had a great experience during my stay! Despite it being a busy time and slightly understaffed, the staff was incredibly accommodating during check-in. Dave, the manager, personally welcomed us and even helped carry our luggage to the room. Initially, I was a bit disappointed as the room felt smaller than advertised. However, the front desk staff quickly resolved this by upgrading us to a more spacious room in their Premier building, which was much more comfortable. The only downside was some noise from picketers/strikers during our stay. Overall, the service and attentiveness of the staff made it a wonderful experience.

I'm not sure how this hotel is rated so highly - it's old, dingy, and dirty. Our room smelled of cleaning solution in the worst way - as if the cleaning solution was cheap and watered down. The device to change water flow to shower or tub was not working - it would switch back to the tub faucet after a few minutes of runner. Our closet was missing a door. Won't be back to stay is this dive.

There were loud worker strikes going on right outside of the hotel during our stay there and the front desk failed to put us on a higher floor. We were on second floor with the noise coming right inside. Room was very dated, windows had no natural light coming through, honestly felt like a prison with lack of lighting! Great location in union square was the only plus for this property.

It is at a very convenient location with a lot of restaurants nearby. There are grocery stores too. 10-15 minutes away from Golden Gate. Multiple private parking options available nearby. Room was of decent size with nice mattress and pillows.

Manuel at the front desk gave us service above and beyond since it was our anniversary. We love this hotel and this was another great stay. We used the fitness room and it is a very short walk to Union Square.

We stayed overnight Thanksgiving night. The room was aking size and large and spacious. The front desk man upgraded our room to this room and we loved it. He recommended breakfast at the Cafe Mason and it was the best breakfast ever. We will return again soon!
