Great location.
Friendly and welcoming check in staff, although it was a little hard to hear with the loud DJ booth right beside them, wasn’t really an issue - just seemed ‘odd’. Room was nice, comfy and clean and quiet. Great location. Really enjoyed our weekend in San Francisco. Restaurant was fabulous.

We had such a lovely experience at the Alton and would definitely stay again next time we're in town. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. There's an evening social hour every night with free drinks and the vibes are always great. Loved the vintage/boutiquey feel with all the cleanliness and convenience of a luxury hotel. Super close to public transportation. We did not have a car during our stay and never had an issue catching a street car or bus nearby.

Might as well don't add ABACA in the marketing of the hotel. The restaurant will say in front of your face they are not part of the hotel. And ABACA staff speaking in non-English and can only interpret their gestures. Annoying and Rudeness. My order on the first day was incomplete and had to call the front desk. They did connect me but to my dismay NO ANSWER. Kept ringing but end up busy tone. Ate my breakfast without the guacamole. Same as the front desk of the hotel that I spoke with in our 2nd day. I'm just explaining what had happened or encounter with ABACA but cut me off and say "ABACA is not part of the hotel".

From the time we drove up, the service was excellent. The lady at the front desk was so friendly. Our room was not quite ready so we left our bags and went off to explore the city. When we came back, we still had to wait a bit so we played some games (hotel supplied) on the lobby. Once oir room was ready, we proceeded upstairs to a large, clean room with a beautiful bay view.
