I enjoyed my stay. The concierge Pam was so warm snd pleasant. She made you feel at home. There was one woman in particular that was upstairs and worked the reception desk at the spa and also at the front desk reception that I did not care for her attitude. When she was asked a question she was rude and unfriendly. Because of her I never went to the spa. Otherwise everyone else very nice especially Pam.

Downtown SF in decline
PROS: Good central location near Union Square and transit. Excellent service. Everyone was so nice! Our room was spacious and comfortable. CONS: Mattress was marginally supportive with terrible pillows, we both had stiff necks. Unfortunately, Our stay was marred by the poignant audible shouting of nearby hotel worker strikers. I don’t recommend going back until the striker’s needs are met.

Great location and friendly staff
We enjoyed our stay at The Donatello, it was very centrally located so we were able to get around and see all the sights with cable car just a short walk away as well as Union Square and Japantown. We had a car so used their valet parking which was excellent, everyone we encountered on our stay were amazing and could not have been more helpful to us. The only downside was the noise outside with a few protests starting early in the morning as well as homeless people screaming throughout the night. The hotel can’t do anything about this so I recommend bringing some ear plugs or something. Overall a very good stay and would recommend.

We loved the layout of the hotel. The clubhouse upstairs on the top floor was a great place to start your day with coffee or tea. Filter water saves on plastic bottles. Transportation was all around us, so getting places was simple.

We loved our stay at The Donatello. Great location, one block to Union Square and all the transport is within walking distance to get anywhere. Room was well laid out with a basic kitchenette. Loved the gym and spa facilities. Our favourite was the club lounge, gorgeous area to enjoy a complementary coffee. Highly recommend.

We stayed here for a few days but I loved everything about it. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I felt safe inside the hotel. I really liked that at night they locked the doors and the only way in is with your key card for your room. The area of this hotel is located on the outskirts of the tenderloin. I feel like it’s located in a little better part of town than other hotels. It’s very convenient when you are walking all over San Francisco. We took the muni everywhere & it was only about a 5 minute walk to each bus stop around the area. It’s very close to the bart station & has a shopping center around. If I ever come back to San Francisco I would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean, the AC worked amazingly. Overall my stay was excellent. My only bad thing is a few hotels down the block there was a protest every day & it started pretty early in the morning so that was a little annoying but not the hotels fault.
