Perfect little overnight stop whilst my fiancée and I were journeying from London to the Lakes. Our double room was very clean, well kept and absolutely silent despite the Christmas do that was taking place in the bar downstairs, which made for a peaceful stay. The buffet breakfast, which included a full English spread and plenty of pastries, yogurts and fruits, was plentiful and all very tasty. The historic nature of the building (an old school so I have read) also provided a unique charm. We would certainly stay here again if venturing nearby.

Room 19 good. Room 18 had minor cleanliness issues reported next morning - will be addressed. Breakfast in main room this time, with main coffee machine! (cappuccino etc)

Worth a visit
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel. Its in a convenient location for town whilst also being surrounded in lovely woodland. Our room was large with a comfortable bed. Our only criticism is the ensuite in our room The shower cubicle is very small and the light is movements sensitive and comes on when the loo is used at night. This might not be a problem in other rooms. Breakfast is excellent and all the staff very helpful and friendly
