water from the air conditioner was leaking and dripping making the carpet wet, we then changed rooms and the water from the air conditioner was leaking and dripping as well. overall service was good, hotel was fine, breakfast was good

Room was good, clean and quiet. Close to the airport and good breakfast, as well as small restaurant right next to the property with more variety than hotel restaurant.

Decent stay
Didn't really feel welcomed by the front office staff, they looked a bit preoccupied and busy with other things, not really the usual friendly welcome with a smile I am used to at holiday in. No body lotion in the room, that's a first for me, always have had that at other hotels, I will remember to oack that in my luggage next time if I stay at another Holiday Inn. Aircon was rather noisy , so turned it off. Didn't like paying for the parking on top of paying for the hotel, why not just charge an inclusive price upfront? The email advising parking had to be paid for only came through after I had booked, seems a bit of a con to make a little extra, I like to know upfront the total cost of my hotel stay. Apart from the above little annoyances, rest of stay was uneventful, location was ideal and close to where I was visiting and environment was pleasant and quiet. Extra points for having a working electric car charger in the car park, worked seamlessly to charge my car.

Great hotel in a good position. Only downside was the difficulty driving to the hotel (but the hotel is not responsible for the extensive roadworks) and the lack of pedestrian walkways from the car park to reception. Will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Spent two nights here for UK games expo. Understandably the prices were higher than usual because of this. However, the hotel is not in a condition that it should be charging £250 per night even when there is high demand. The hotel entrance, lobby and dining area were fine and clean. However, the hallways and bedroom were shabby. Lots of chipping paint and sloppy cover ups. Bathroom could’ve used some attention and updating too. Too shabby for even a three star hotel. Room was a decent size. Location is a bit awkward for the NEC and Resorts world and not very walkable due to the road designs nearby. Would take 35 minutes to walk so best to drive. Parking being an additional cost is a bit rubbish but liveable since you’re told in advance. On our second night, we got stuck in an elevator which broke down. The staff were panicky and although trying their best to be helpful were clearly poorly trained for the situation, making it quite stressful (particularly as I was 6 months pregnant also). We were told that they could not call fire service and had to wait on their engineer. Despite it being an emergency, we had to wait over an hour for said engineer to arrive. Thankfully we had WiFi in the elevator but no other phone signal. We were offered a refund for that night at least but again, it was clear there was poor training around this.

Issues as at check in as the staff could not find the booking for the second room. And the at check out the could not find the second room to provide a receipt even though we had two rooms! Staff friendly. Bathroom small and some disclouring on the grouting of the tiles. Some elements of the buffet cooked breakfast cold. Average overnight stay, but would not stay for longer.
