Comfortable and well equipped hotel
The little touches eg the fresh milk made a massive difference. We were surprised by a long queue to check in. The room was clean and comfortable. Although it was a digital tv it was not a smart tv which felt very old fashioned. The swimming pool was not the tranquil place we had hoped for with families splashing in a noisy way. The rest of the facilities were great but we were upset by the additional cost for the spa that was initially quoted as £10 then increased to £15. The gym was great and the best hotel gym I have ever used. The cold sweat towels a fantastic idea. Breakfast was very nice although tiny eggs were a strange economy. Overall, the value and experience was good and I would return.

Very disappointing. Mostly let down by poor customer service. Snooty staff who tried to get more money out of you at every turn. I object to booking a hotel with a pool, then paying an additional &10 pp for the privilege of using it. I understand there is an early check in charge, but other hotels let you in if you arrive slightly early & the room happens to be ready. Not here… £25 please madam for the privilege of popping your bags in a couple of hours early… err, no thanks! I don’t appreciate having to book a slot for my breakfast but still waiting over 10 mins to be seated. Then being served a lukewarm tiny coffee & rancid meat which was taken away without apology or redress. This hotel thinks it is something which it is not. Please try & get the basics of good service & value right before attempting a 5 star veneer for a 2 star service. Having a security tag on your dressing gown didn’t add a good vibe either…

When I ended up paying £330 for a nights accommodation my expectation was set high, I got to the room - liked the idea of not having bottles for water and milk but when the amenities on floor 3 were not working I couldn’t have a coffee in the morning, breakfast I had to go in my gym kit or not at all as it was all booked out and paid £10 for the gym and spa not to be given a locker walking round with everything pool side looking rather foolish

Slept really well, room was a good temperature, love that there is fresh milk in the hall way, that the bin had a separate part for recycling. Staff are lovely, the only thing is that I think for the price the spa should be included and not an additional price. £150 for a night with no breakfast or spa included is a lot.

Loved the milk and water machines available to fill your own. Good size pool but very annoying that you have to pay extra to use it! I’ve never experienced this in a hotel before and was the main reason we booked it. Plus they added £10 extra to the advertised price as prices had apparently just increased!! Then when we got to the pool (which has a 3 hour window for children to use in evening) we were told they were at capacity and we had to wait around 15-20 minutes. It looked like there was plenty of room but we were told x31 was the limit. If that’s the case I think a booking system needs to be implemented…there were quite a few people waiting to access. Good breakfast

Nicer place in the area with excellent fitness's
Maybe the nicer hotel in the area. I especially appreciated their exercise facility. There is also a lap pool for those that swim. Restaurant onsite is excellent.

While this hotel is wonderful - please be advised if booking through hotels.com or any other booking agent, the pool use is not included and is chargeable at £10 per person. It is only free if you book direct with the hotel. This would be my only real complaint as guests shouldn’t be discriminated against for their choice of booking platform.

Beware - Price does not include Pool use!
Beware! There has been a change in policy. Apparently if you book this hotel via Expedia/Hotels.com you cannot use the pool without an extra charge. Nowhere on the booking does it state this. I have stayed in this hotel many times and this policy is new. My family and I went to the pool and were refused entry, they then made me go to reception to sort it out, reception tried to charge me £30 which I refused.

A mixed experience. Parts of the hotel are tired, and there are dead flies in the lampshades in the bar. The food is good, and the reception was very good, but evening room service wasn’t answered for 30 minutes then when it was I was told I couldn’t be served as they couldn’t take payment. Paying extra for the spa seems a bit much when you’ve already paid for a room.

It was a freezing weekend and so was the hotel. The aircon/ heating system didn’t work. We were so cold we couldn’t face going for a swim. Even the jacuzzi was luke warm. The bed was small and a bit too firm for me. Everything else in the hotel was perfect. Attention to detail impressive.

We stayed overnight at aztec Hotel spa for my birthday our stay was enjoyable the room was elegant very clean i must add the facilities/jacuzzi, steam room, sauna was very relaxing the following morning we had breakfast at the curiouse kitchen it was lovely but only one fault i found they got breakfast order wrong by including mushroom which i specified before no to .but i would definitely return

Very good hotel
Easy check in to a clean and comfortable room. Staff very nice and the hotel had ample parking. Good quality breakfast. Will definitely return.
