A waterfront holiday home at Holloways Beach (15-minutes north of Cairns), Mylara is a seaside getaway that’s set in a suburb that’s more local than touristy. Here at Mylara, it’s all about easy-going days by the waterside; relax on your very own private poolside deck overlooking the Coral Sea, or with direct beach access from our yard, lounge on the sandy shores. The choice is yours!
Mylara is your little slice of paradise in Queensland’s Tropical North. A fully air-conditioned, self-contained three-bedroom, two-bathroom house that’s been thoughtfully designed for a relaxing getaway. The laid-back open-plan living area is styled in a relaxed rustic coastal feel, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook at home.
Sleeping up to six guests comfortably, the generous sized bedrooms contain a king-size bed with luxury mattress toppers. The master bedroom features a four-poster bed frame and television. The bathrooms are modern with floor-to-ceiling travertine marble, one with a freestanding bath and the other with a washer and dryer.
Yet, nothing is quite like the outdoor entertaining areas. The covered deck with coastal vibes flows down to a pool and decking area framed by overarching palm trees—a favourite hangout spot on a balmy afternoon (or sunrises for the early birds). Relax on loungers and outdoor seating or on our very own fenced in sandy frontage while soaking up the uninterrupted ocean views. Bliss.
With direct beach access from our yard, and the local cafés and restaurant only a short stroll via the beach or road, you will never have to venture too far from home. But when you do, the Great Barrier Reef and the tropical hinterland are an absolute wonder.
The perfect base to explore Far North Queensland, Holloways Beach is a relaxed seaside village with year-round holiday vibes. An easy 15-minutes north of Cairns and 20-minutes south of Palm Cove, Holloways Beach, has a selection of cafes and restaurants, all a short stroll from Mylara (our picks; Strait on the Beach, Two Blocks Café and Holloways Pizza and Pasta).
A sun-kissed beach and foreshore parks with walking and cycling trails, this is the kind of place where you want to kick back and relax. Time your visit right, and you’ll be in for a real treat with Holloways Beach Market (held on the second Sunday of every month).
Yet all the adventure you could dream of is just around the corner. The Great Barrier Reef and The Daintree Rainforest are a must-do day trip, but brace yourself because there is a lot of water fun to be had; scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, stand-up paddle boarding, white water rafting, island hopping and deep-sea fishing (to name a few). On land, the list is just as diverse; golfing, bungee jumping, hiking, animal encounters, or explore Cairns, Port Douglas, and Kuranda, a mountain village within a tropical rainforest
