lots of untrue facts on listing and review
The numbers of bedrooms are split between separate 2 houses about 150 feet apart. While the main house is decorated normal with 5 beds in 4 bedrooms . The other house of lots of bedroom and over 10 beds is so basic like a hospital dorm, with no heaters, no hot water and no curtain on windows and bad smell Now the main room. A number of Things don’t work and broken. The kitchen fan doesn’t work. Not clean with small hairs here and there from prior tenants. The carpet is hard like rocks

Beautiful Main House, awesome views, but bugs in cottages
Everything about the main house was amazing. Spacious and comfortable. Well decorated and had everything you needed. Where the property fell short was the cottages. They were not as updated or well ventilated as the main house. It was a hot weekend and a lot of sleeping spaces were uncomfortable because of the heat and lack of airflow. There was also a HUGE bug problem in the cottages - spiders, mosquitos, crickets, and grasshoppers. Most of the people who had to sleep in that cottage had to move to different spaces. It was not inhabitable.

Super - In some ways
This place is quite spectacular. And at one point it was probably super-duper spectacular. The main room and kitchen are great. The view from the top of the hilltop beyond compare. The drive to the top thrilling. The one thing is that all of the accoutrements are on the verge of not being great. The dishes are mismatched. The towels a bit scratchy. The outside furniture a bit tired. The ice-maker didn't work. It's a beautiful, special place - it just needs to be updated to be in the top sphere.

Perfect family reunion rental
The view from on top of this hill was absolutely priceless! Sunny, clear skies greeted my family and I on this trip that made a perfect place to escape to in July! This property was artfully decorated and made cozy that it made it easy for my family and I to feel at home to be relaxed yet entertained on our stay here! Logan, I assume is the property manager, reached out with great enthusiasm to ensure a quality stay and I was so very grateful to have that peace that if any worries were to come to mind during my stay, they would help me right away. I left a personal belonging behind in a rush and saved the day by sending that out to me right away albeit with a fee. You definitely get what you pay for at this quietly luxurious spot that gave what me and my party of 13 other family guests needed for our successful trip to Carmel/Carmel Valley. Beautiful memories made here done with special thanks to Vrbo and the Lux Vaca rental property team.

Main house great; cottages just ok
Cottages have most of the bedrooms whereas Main house has 3 bedrooms. Cottages were not as nice as main house and has no central heat - portable heaters provided, no microwave in the kitchenettes. Property is very pretty and vast. Floor plans would be very helpful to understand all the bedroom layout.

Wonderful weekend above the clouds!
My husband and I hosted our family and friends to celebrate our elopement, and this was the perfect house for a long weekend. Between visiting Carmel Valley, Big Sur, Carmel-by-the-Sea, and Monterey, this house was in an ideal location, anywhere from 15-40min drive from our destinations. The drive to the house was an adventure in itself! The house and side cottages were spacious and clean with plenty of room for folks to congregate or find solitude. Our favorite was walking to the hilltop for a 360° view of sunrise/sunset and the scenery. The kitchen was fully stocked and there was extra propane for the grill and heaters, a much-appreciated option! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely book this house again!

Great for our group of 10!
Property was great for our getaway! The views were stunning, it was nice and secluded, and it was great having a fire pit and a pool table for entertainment. When we first booked the property the "barn" house was part of the rental but we were notified that there was a change in ownership and the barn was no longer part of the property. They added an RV and moved some beds around to make up for it and it turned out to be fine but we only had 10 people in our group - the arrangement would probably be more inconvenient for larger groups. And our only complaint is that we'd run out of hot water in the showers. I saw other reviews complain about this and asked if it had been fixed - they messaged me saying it was but we still had cold showers. I can see this being a big inconvenience for larger groups because we had to time our showers to be short and make sure people weren't taking them at the same time. But overall, we had a blast.

Great Rustic House for 20 People
I had myself and 18 of my friends stay here for 2 nights. The house is in a very secluded location high up on a hill. It is about a 5 minute drive up a hill once you get through the first gate. The main house is in good condition and very nice. The additional buildings are in good shape but not quite as nice as the main house. They get the job done though as they are more so meant for additional places to sleep. The main house has plenty of space to accommodate a large dinner or hang out spot.

Beautiful space and area, but consider the following
There were 18 adults who stayed at the ranch in February. It's a beautiful, removed space. The main house is comfortable with all the amenities. Those in the side cottages were less comfortable. The hot water was not working most times and when it was, it was only working for a single shower use, which made it difficult for everyone to wash up comfortably. The hot tub did not heat up above 84 degrees (it is inflatable and does not retain heat well), but maybe those visiting in warmer weather will have better luck. The property management also confirmed early check in (11:30am was the earliest check in and this comes with a fifty dollar fee), however the cleaning crew was onsite at the time of arrival and they had JUST started cleaning and did not finish until around 3:00pm. We were flexible and told them we'd just hang around outside until they were done. Would recommend anyone utilizing early check in and paying the extra fee to call in and confirm MULTIPLE times. The space and property is very beautiful serene, and offers gorgeous nature walks right outside the front door. It is a bit removed and those not familiar with the area should be made aware that there are not a lot of transportation options (lyft/uber/taxi).

Ranch property
We had a good stay at the Weathertop ranch. The location was beautiful although further out from town and along a steep driveway with a drop off that made some of us very nervous. The house and guest cottages were nice. The biggest issue with the house was no hot water in 2 of the showers which with a large group made showering very difficult. Also a third shower did not drain properly so you stood in a pool of soapy/dirty water. Everything else was good and overall we did enjoy our stay.

Not worth the price
This was a disappointing property due to the lack of quality throughout. All of the chairs, couches and beds need to be replaced because they are unusable. There is a serious lack of storage in the bedrooms and bathrooms. The outer building are converted stables and have not been updated appropriately for human use: one of them is splitting down the middle and will likely slide down the hill in the near future, there is no plumbed heating so portable heaters are provided, which is a fire waiting to happen, and the kitchen venting is not plumbed to the exterior as they should be. The pathways between the buildings are dangerous and quite hazardous at night as they are not lit. The facility is obviously old and needs to be updated. I would not recommend this facility. We only enjoyed it because this is our annual family gathering and we will have fun no matter where we end up!

Weather Top Ranch
We loved this ranch. The setting is outstanding. We could watch beautiful sunrises in the morning. We had 11 family members with us. The accommodations were great. The main house space was great for gathering together but it was nice for each family to have their own space. The kitchen was well equipped for family dinner preparation. We highly recommend this lovely home.

Beautiful Clean Property with Gorgeous Views
We rented this property as a place for our extended family to stay while in California for a wedding. The property is beautiful and has amazing views as it is situated at the top of a mountain. We loved the large kitchen and dining room where the whole family could gather for meals, and the patio sitting area was also a wonderful place for the whole group to gather to talk and relax. The separate bedrooms and bathrooms in the bunkhouse were wonderful in terms of allowing people their own space when they wanted to get away for a bit. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we could possibly need for our stay. We hated to leave and hope to be back some day.

Beautiful seclusion- truest a mountain top getaway!
This property accommodated the whole family. My kids their significant others and grandkids. Beautiful views from every direction. It was about a 30-40 min drive to Carmel or Monterey where we enjoyed so many great activities those cities have to offer. I do wish the barn was closer to the main house but overall we had such an amazing time. Thank you.

Amazing family trip in Carmel!
We were delighted as the property and views were more beautiful than be expected. The house is secluded and there are two gates to get to the main house and cottages. This gave us great privacy and comfort in allowing the children to play and roam outside. The views were spectacular and the children loved the swings and play sets! Will rent this home again for sure!!

Wonderful weekend getaway
This property is amazing! It is very secluded, so you have the amazing scenery of the valley and the peace and quiet of nature. The house is spacious and well equipped for a large party to gather, relax, and cook together all while having enough space to also have your own relaxing moments. The bbq grill and fire pit were great for cooking and being able to just hang out outside. We didn’t have time to jump into the hot tub, but it is a very nice touch. Our dogs also loved roaming around as well. The barn is a little way down the road, but has a pool table and is a great place to also relax and have fun. Such a great experience, can’t wait to stay again in the future!

Elopement on the top of the world
My husband and I were so excited to book this location for our elopement. It is such a beauty location with pleanty of space for everyone to have their own space or hang out in a large group. It was more beautiful than I imagined and it helped us all connect and celebrate our marriage. The separate cabins with full baths and kitchens really helped to give everyone their own space to enjoy. The 360 views make it such a unique place. I miss it already The property managers delivered firewood and a table for our wedding dinner night. It was so convenient to be able to contact them if we needed anything. There was the main home with the king master, a guest queen room, and a guest room with 2 twin trundles (4 beds total). One cottage had 2 queens with a full kitchen and the bedrooms were separated by the bathroom so it was perfect for my father in-law and brother in-law and his wife to share. The second cottage had several twins in the dining area and a kitchen with a separate bedroom with another queen bed. The third cottage was the most exclusive with a queen bed, very large kitchen and bathroom. It had be view of the ocean. The last space was the pool hall a frame that had the bunk beds. They groomsmen loved that space at night!

The Views
This place is sometimes literally above the clouds. It sits on a high hill (note: the 1.3 miles of uphill driveway to get to the main house - makes for a challenging morning run as well), but it gives you this amazing view of the valley and even the coast on the clear days. It is very cool to see the clouds roll in from all sides in the evening. It makes for a great place to relax and get away. Now, you are up in the country a bit, so critters runnings around are to be expected, and don't be surprised to see a handful of cows in the fields as well. My family and I stayed here and had an abundance of space and bed choice (7 of us and what seemed like 15 beds). Some rooms even had smaller kitchens which would make this a good place for large groups. Overall, lots of room for activities and exploring.
