WITH A LITTLE TLC THIS PLACE WOULD REALLY SHINE!
The Valets need to get off their phones and communicate with their Guests. I was not offered any assistance with a luggage cart until I had already filled it. The lanai is due for a power wash. Replace the the warped baseboards. The pool and Spa are in dire need of re-plastering. Otherwise, pay the extra and get an Oceanfront Room! The views are breathtaking. The Front Desk Staff is very courteous and the Maids were very attentive. The staff at the Driftwood Restaurant were also terrific. IMHO, the good outweighs the not-so-good...but, with the right touches, this place could give the Surf and Sand a run for the money!

Great location. Standards dropping (dropped!).
This place is getting seriously tired. Service levels have dropped. Room clearly not properly cleaned from previous guests. Reception manager didn’t care. Apparently you have to ask for towels for the third guest. No longer cheap. $350 a night 🙄🙄🙄

The ocean front view was amazing. The room was clean, a bit old inside. The valet was super hectic, especially during checkout. Being close to the beach and downtown was also a plus.

Perfect beach trip
My friend and I stayed for a girls trip. Right on the beach. Beautiful view and walking distance to down town. Only thing we did not like was the shower & the lack of a full size mirror for outfit checks. Expect to get wet as you turn the shower on. The design to walk in is not the best. & the shower head is extremely high, so we could not move it.

They don’t advertise this anywhere. When you get there they tell you that to park your car overnight is $45. I asked if there was another option and he said no. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in Laguna, I’ve never had to pay an additional fee to park my car at a hotel I pay to stay at. The man who checked me in also let me know they charge a $100 security deposit. Okay… Pretty drastic security deposit for a room that is in DESPERATE need of renovation. Our door barely shut, and barely locked because of how much the property has shifted. Paint is horribly chipped, rooms smell like musty mildew, and actual sewer when you use any running water. He told me the $100 would be returned to me day of check out. It’s been 4 days, still haven’t gotten it back. I called front desk yesterday and they said “no it takes 3-5 business days”. Just seems really slimy to lie to your customers face about the security deposit refund policy. Overpriced, way too big of a security deposit and all these fees they don’t advertise while booking (BE WARNED: Booked my room for 300, ended up paying 416 at the property). It’s not the Ritz Carlton. Just stay somewhere else. Crescent Bay Inn has the same quality of rooms, for a much better price, and much better / honest customer service. Still waiting on my security deposit back. Day 4.

Overall I enjoyed the property. The premises as whole could use some upgrading, as some areas are sloping, dingy, chipped, etc. Would consider other options next time I'm in the area... Staff was pleasant!

My husband took me to celebrate my birthday! The views from the oceanfront room in the “Reef” bldg. were incredible and the bed was so comfortable. There’s not an elevator so be sure to get a bellman!!

We booked an oceanfront king several weeks ago through Expedia. We checked in early and was given a nice large remolded room with a large balcony and nice bathroom. It was however on the first floor, and directly over the outside setting area for the Deck restaurant. We asked for another room higher up and they said not available till later. We said fine and thank you and returned around 3:00pm. The receptionist gave a us another room in another building and it was awful! It was oceanfront and was a king bed, but it was bad. Balcony was in disrepair, air conditioning unit was hanging out of the wall, no screen door to enjoy the ocean breeze and sound without worrying about sea gulls flying in. The bathroom was smaller than a motor home bathroom. The cabinet in the bathroom was beaten up. I should have turned around and say no way to this room, but we needed to shower and prepare for dinner. Also we paid $45 for valet parking which is mandatory, when I could have self parked right outside my room in an empty parking lot the valet uses when it’s busy, which this property was not on a Sunday night. Anyway live and learn, but I am disappointed that they would give out this room when they were not anywhere near capacity. If you do stay here get the rooms in the remodeled building. They look like the pictures. They will never show the pictures of these crappy rooms.

The location of this place is amazing, we only stayed one night so we didnt get to take advantage of all the sites around the area. Would go back to make sure we take advantage of all it has to offer. The place is a little dated but looks like they do their best to make it presentable.

The room shown online that we chose (looks like a really nice updated room) and the room given (total dump) not the same AT ALL! The only good thing was the location and it was very clean. Starting at check in the staff was lacking personality and definitely not a people person, It needs new EVERYTHING in the room…vanity had broken leg and paint peeling, cracks in ceilings, rusted out fixtures a broken window, no water to make coffee with tap tasted gross. Additionally, we chose this place since it has a restaurant and a bar-type restaurant as well. We were not informed when looking at this property, not informed at reservation, and not informed at check in that the main restaurant would be closed for a private “family” dinner. Complete waste of money and Hope the owners will be honest about the property and its condition. We felt totally and completely violated that we were scammed!

Our room was great (The Reef, King bed, oceanfront), the front desk staff, plus the valet staff, were awesome, and it was fun hanging out at The Deck for cocktails and apps at sunset! It was the perfect holiday getaway for my husband and I. Highly recommend, 10/10. Thank you, Pacific Edge, we’ll be back!

Rude Guests!!
This is a difficult review to leave because we have stayed at Pacific Edge a few times, and it’s a beautiful oceanfront property, which is where I want to be! But we had a terrible experience on this visit because we had extremely rude and thoughtless guests in the room next to ours. At 6:20am, they were playing VERY loud music, singing, drinking and smoking weed… all things I wouldn’t object to at a normal time of day. I called the front desk, they only made one call to the room, which only resulted in a brief moment of quiet. Because of the way the balconies/rooms, that are oceanfront, are designed, if you have a situation like this, it’s going to be a problem because they are very close to each other. I wish the front desk would have sent someone to the room to handle the situation. We’re pretty sure there were more than the average number of guests staying in the room. Ruined our visit!! So just know, if you have crummy guests in rooms around you, it won’t be a pleasant stay!!!
