The drive to the hotel was very confronting for new arrivals in LA. We were scared to get out of the car. When we entered the hotel lobby it was clear that the pictures on Wotif are very different from the reality. We booked 11 months in advance and were given a room that you would expect in a hostel not a VERY expensive hotel. The windows had no double glazing and were difficult to lock so it was extremely noisy and concerning for our safety as the surroundings are dodgy. We rang down to reception to see if there was another option but were told no. They then said because the lift wasn’t working we could check out and get a full refund if we wanted. We found another hotel for the exact same price which was so much better than the awful room we were offered and we left within 30 minutes of attending. Did not even stay, the photos are deceptive and I felt I had put my children at risk with the area. Not recommended at all.

This was our 2nd stay at The Normandie for our anniversary. Our checkin was quick and the staff were friendly and courteous. We remember Francisco from our last stay . We enjoy the quiet atmosphere and it’s nice to have a restaurant and bar off the lobby. The valet parking attendants were very nice and helpful. It’s a great location to restaurants, The Wiltern Theatre and not a far drive from the Farmers Market and Hollywood . We will continue to visit here when we come to LA.

I have been going to this hotel consistently for a little less than a year, and the staff is the best. Everything is always clean, and when I arrive early, they always try to have a room ready for me. They are the best.

Good time!
This was my second time stating at this hotel so that says a lot about how much I love it. It can get a little noisy but the noise doesn't bother me. I loved the street view and having the opportunity to try out Cassell's which was a fun experience with my bestie. Definitely will stay a THIRD time someday. :)

If you’re considering Hotel Normandie, think twice. Despite what the price or reviews might suggest, this is essentially a hostel disguised as a boutique hotel. Here’s the reality: • Noise: It’s ridiculously loud. Don’t expect to get any sleep here. The walls seem paper-thin, and the noise level from both inside and outside the hotel is unbearable. • Parking: There’s no free parking, only valet for $45 a night. If you want to avoid that, there are some nearby parking options that are slightly cheaper, but it’s still inconvenient. • Ambience: While the hotel may advertise itself as “rustic” or “charming,” it just feels outdated and poorly maintained. The vibe is nowhere near what you’d expect for the price. Bottom line: Don’t be fooled by the photos or the reviews. This place is not worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, peace, or a good night’s sleep.

This hotel is absolutely breathtaking. The hotel staff was delightful to speak to during check in. Very kind, knowledgeable about the hotel as it’s historic, they were so friendly at the front desk. We were able to have complimentary wine until 7:30 while enjoying the amazing lobby, the wood work is fantastic, with many different seating areas that honestly felt so intimate. Our room was perfect! We had a wonderful card left for us from the staff thanking us, as well as an impeccably clean room. Our bathroom had a towel folded in a heart with a duck in the middle! They definitely made our stay amazing and made us feel honored that we chose them! Thank you everyone at Hotel Normandie and Happy Holidays!

Ok. So I am a member of ADSLA. We are all about keeping historical buildings in LA in place and operatabe. That said proprietors of these establishments MUST keep them up to standard. The floors and corners in our room - dirty. The heater not operational although a space heater was provided. The in room coffee option not pleasantly displayed, therefore went unused. Maid service was below adequate. They were not accommodating or pleasant to guests. Face cloths were absorbent not so the bath towels. Lobby ambience mediocre given the winter holiday season. The Christmas Tree needs more ornaments. The front check-in staff was amazing, particularly Francisco! Loved the close proximity of Cafe Cassels, ate breakfast there twice. Over all, we will return. We prefer the old Los Angeles hotels, but do believe old doesn’t mean poor care and attention to detail!

This is an older, kind of beat up hotel in Koreatown. Service is good but really no amenities. No room service, fitness room, etc. Mattress was not great; sofa bed used by my adult child was awful. That said, it really wasn’t too bad for the price and the staff was great. Old style coffee shop connected to the hotel was very good in a funky way.

I want to emphasize that staff was friendly, however The parking cost is not worth it for having to park it yourself and pay a high amount. The parking is not in front of the hotel. It is across the street. If you have small children definitely not worth it. The hotel room itself is small and you can hear everything at night. Definitely only recommend if you’re into older hotels That may be haunted.

I guess it is ok for the money I paid. But nothing was outstanding about that place. Small bathroom, small room, no luggage storage or closet. I liked that the have bodum electric kettle and instant Nescafé coffee. I still feel like I overpaid for that place. Also they offer rediculously expensive parking (45$) without suggesting some cheaper alternative . I found a parking lot 3 blocks away
