Upon checking into the room, we noticed that fireplace was not working. Talked to front desk staff who gladly switched our room. That room fire place was not working either. Front desk staff went to check a third while and while checking, maintenance “reset” the fireplace in the second room which started to work. Front desk staff said he would talk to manager about discounting room for inconvenience. Nice gesture, but it didn’t happen , Rooms were clean and comfortable for the most part. Shower pressure was a little too short for my liking. Second day at the hotel as I was sleeping, maintenance came into my room unannounced and of coarse creeped me out. Maintenance said that he received a text from my room stating that a shower rod had fallen. Manager stated there must have been a mix up with the rooms, and apologized for yet another inconvenience. Manager offered us to have dinner and wine on the house, and credited our room. Very appreciative gestures but I was not comfortable after maintenance used their key and walked into the room unannounced and while I was alone and unclothed. Truly traumatic experience. Breakfast was nice, great variety. Could have been a little warmer. Rooms did not have microwaves to heat food. Surrounding area is really nice, easily accessible to stores the beach and restaurants.

The hotel was absolutely lovely! We loved the cozy fireplace in our room, and the $20 package with wine and a hot breakfast was a great deal. The only downside was the thin walls, which meant we could hear a late check-in upstairs in the middle of the night. I'd suggest requesting a room on the second floor to avoid similar disturbances.

This property was luxurious but never pretentious. Beds very comfortable. Staff was fun. Easy walk to Fisherman’s Wharf. Excellent breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

We found this hotel by reading about recommended hotels on Reddit. Hotel Abrego did not disappoint. Front of house staff was very accommodating in finding us another room after my significant other wasn't thrilled about being on the detached building lower floor. Later we came down for a drink at the bar, Kevin was our bartender, he had all sorts of good recommendations for us! Next morning we had breakfast before heading out. I was surprised by the many options available. The croissant breakfast sandwich and the overnight oats were delicious! Would definitely recommend this hotel

Stayed here during Labor Day weekend and it was honestly so nice not far away from the Aquarium and Fishermans Wharf. The night time was so quiet, the breakfast included was honestly really delightful (the gentlemen) that was bringing the food was really friendly and gave good service, (tip them they have jar). Overall, the place was good I recommend it only thing was we got roomed where we had to take the stairs no elevator didn’t want to complain about the room since we checked in early but overall I give it a 8/10

This is a beautiful updated hotel. I like a mix of super unique/boutique places, and anonymous hotel - and this is the latter with flair and care to detail. My room had a lovely chaise and comfortable bed. Breakfast was generous and tasty, and it was quick to Cannery Row and the Aquarium as well as getting back on the road. I stayed overnight on a road trip along the coast, and would stay again if in the area, and recommend to friends. Great location, staff, and attention to detail.

The hotel was a little too far to walk from Cannery Row despite other reviews saying it was close. Breakfast was satisfactory. The bedding (mattress and pillows) were cheap and uncomfortable. Our room was a corner which faced 2 roads. Relatively quiet at night but DEFINITELY noisy traffic most of the time due to being near a busy intersection. Although clean there are probably better places to stay in Monterey.

The staff is very friendly and our room was very clean. Not sure if they are planning on making renovations to the rooms because our headboard has a big tear, bathroom had many areas that putty had been applied to and left unpainted, the wayer temperature kept changing to extremely hot to cold, and the A/C unit in the room took a very long time to start working. Woud i stay here again, that's questionable.
