It was so close to 5 Stars. Hot tub was suburb, the the wife and I really enjoyed it in the evenings. The room was spacious, the fireplace was a plus. So why not 5 Stars? The hall way carpets needed a good vacuuming. We were there 3 days some junk that was on the carpet when check in was there when check out. And they really don't serve Breakfast, it's a Continental Breakfast no real protein. Also they had for pitcher of drinks not labeled. I only recognized milk the other ??? Now I might be being picky about the breakfast not have a good protein, but being diabetic you need the proteins to keep you blood sugar numbers down. And the only fruit they had was brown bananas. So if you are not picky about the so called breakfast it could be a 5 star experience for you.

The bathroom is dated and there were no batteries in our two fire alarms. We arrived to see them hanging open in the middle of the room. There is rust on the hinges in the bathroom and the door was ragged wood on bottom. The sink has a very old faucet with very low pressure. The toilet holder was falling apart as well

I recently had the pleasure of staying one night at Hotel Mariposa in Monterey while exploring the stunning sights along Highway 1. First and foremost, the location of the hotel is convenient for anyone looking to discover the beautiful coastal views and attractions in the area. The hotel itself is more than nice for the price, clean, and appears to have been recently remodeled. The furniture and styling are both tasteful. One of the highlights the. breakfast included with my booking. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the variety of pastries, bagels with cream cheese, various cereals, and grits. It was a perfect way to start my day of exploration! I also want to emphasize that Hotel Mariposa is pet-friendly The staff at Hotel Mariposa were exceptionally kind and polite. Their hospitality truly stood out, especially when I encountered a bit of a crisis. After checking out, I realized I had misplaced my wallet in the room. I didn't notice it until I was already on the road, and I initially thought I may have lost it at one of the scenic viewpoints along the highway. To my surprise, the next morning, I received a call from the hotel notifying me that they had found my wallet and were mailing it back to me. I can't express enough how grateful I am for the honesty and integrity of the staff. Overall, my experience at Hotel Mariposa was great.I highly recommend this charming hotel to anyone visiting Monterey.

The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. I stay here every year for Thanksgiving because it is close to my family. The included breakfast has definitely gone downhill over the years. They must’ve been bought out because now when you call, you get one of those automated phone menus. Personally, I find those annoying. Overall, though it is a good quality place.

Garden areas just lovely. Rooms don't have any furniture to store clothes. No desk. Bathroom has no place to store anyrhing. Plumbing sucks. Mediocre management. Awful breakfast (I should have photographed the dark bananas!). This motel overcharges for their rooms... They are worth max $50.00/night. My husband, dog and I were very dissapointed.

The mattress was not comfortable and we were very disappointed about the breakfast that was offered. No much of a selection plus there was no one around when needed. I remember not being hot water in one of the pitchers and there was no one to help. The vending machine on the second floor took our dollar and when I went to the front desk they did not offer any type of solution for our dollar or our drink that we didn’t get.

Close to Highway 1 & Aquarium.
Breakfast was continental. Toilet commode was too close to door in bathroom. Not a good setup, but the room overlooked the pool & hot tub, had a fireplace in room, and a sliding glass door to deck. The outside heaters were out of propane, but overall a nice room close to Aquarium and shops and restaurants as well as Highway 1. A little tricky to get to (had to make a series of right turns to get to the entrance.
