The property is beautiful, but my overall stay was terrible because of their staff. From the moment I checked in, and every other moment that followed, I was treated like a nuisance in their work environment. I was not treated as a guest of the hotel. Everyone seemingly hates their job, doesn’t want to do a good job, is acting like it’s their first day on the job, etc… I don’t mind untrained staff. I mind rude, sassy behavior. What’s the point of saying you offer breakfast on the porch or lunch at the pool if there is only one staff member servicing both areas? We saw her one time over a 4-hour period by the pool.
They understaff their hotel. Even housekeeping is understaffed, which is why our room was not ready by 4pm, though they offer a 4pm guarantee. And when asking for updates on the availability of our room, I was told that it was not ready and they didn’t know when it would be ready. No offers to make it right. No gestures to apologize for the big inconvenience.
So we checked out early and went to the Thompson hotel down the street.
