Second time staying at the Maids Head, and both times everything was excellent. Great staff, fantastic location and easy parking. AC was appreciated, as it was a hot day. The only down side was the room was quite small. I would recommend.

The staff were friendly, efficient and the accommodation was clean, centrally located and convenient. It wasn't clear that parking was an extra cost and it was limited. As this is marketed as a dog friendly hotel it would be helpful to know in advance that outside of the room and the courtyard, you are not allowed stop anywhere else in the hotel with your dog. We were asked to move on twice before being told that the courtyard was the only place other than your room that you could stop with your dog. Whilst we completely understand that some areas need to be dog free, it was disappointing that this was not made clear when booking or on arrival. Otherwise a lovely hotel and nice staff.

Excellent find for a reasonable price
The Maid's Head Hotel is well located in the city centre. All the staff I spoke with were very attentive, friendly, and helpful. My room was decorated well and clean, with modern amenities and extras like a minifridge and bottled water. Wifi was strong. The water pressure is good with plenty of hot water. I didn't originally book breakfast at the hotel, but the next morning I decided to eat at the hotel and I am glad I did. There were plenty of options for a hot breakfast, as well as, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, and pasteries for a reasonable price.

very beautiful old building with lots of character, in the heart of the city, surrounded with lovely pubs and wine bars and next to the stunning cathedral. Comfortable modern rooms and great restaurant. Polite helpful staff and great food. Was a bit disappointed that we were given two menus (one was a set menu) and told that the chef 'may' permit you to swap starters, only to be told by the waiter that took our order, I couldn't swap my starter! Only watch out is if you have difficulty walking, there are steps to different levels and the lift to the rooms is located up an upper level, reached by steps.
