Nice hotel, not so nice experience at hotels.com
Our stay was good. Hotels.com booked us in a wheelchair accessible room without my requesting it. I didn’t notice on my confirmation. The room was very well equipped for that, but, since we don’t need it, it was sparse. We were without a full closet, no drawers, no kitchen drawers, one chair at the table and a roll in shower. That was not ideal for us. When I asked the hotel about moving they told me I had to contact Expedia. We were only there a few days so rather just dealt with the room. Sonder is similar to European hotels with no front desk, a coded entry, but very clean and well appointed rooms, with patios for each. I would recommend staying there, just pay attention when you reserve through hotels.com that you are booked in the room you requested!

The room was ok, but the windows were all on one wall that faced giant windows in the hall and elevator. Your entire roomand its occupants was completely visible to anyone walking by (the room next door was also somewhat but less visible). In order to have any privacy you had to lower the black out shades. Which made the room dark and sad. When I contacted the property about an alternate room they suggested I lower the shades. Otherwise they could move me to a new room and I’d be charge more for this new accommodation. Obviously when you have no staff present the first thing to go is customer service. If someone bothered to walk to property they would realize that frosting those hall windows would fix this problem. Thus making everyone more comfortable. You wouldn’t even have to frost the entire window to fix this.

I had never stayed at a place like this before. Room was clean, bed comfortable. I did not like the fact there was no housekeeping service, or lobby. For the price, there should have been. Place seemed deserted until the fire alarm went off and we saw there really were other guests in the place, leaving their rooms. Parking was an ordeal as the machine’s date was set to an event that happened the prior week. People were getting tickets that said their parking expired on July 20, when it was actually July 26. One lady came to the “mall” and her ticket was charging her for a full day. The location is great! Walking distance from a lot of nice places. Lots of restaurants. Safe neighborhood,

Excellent property to stay! Loved the walking distance to English Bay, there are so many stores to purchase essentials so that you have eveything you need. The rooms are very clean and well kept. Staff are friendly and helpful in the case you need anything but everything was very seamless and there were no issues at all. I would highly recommened!

While I was out of the room 5 minutes past check out time, my 84 yr old mother who has dementia and uses a wheelchair was alone in the room. Sonder would not let her stay and wait for me. Sonder packed up remaining items in our bags and kicked my mom out of the room. I told them that I was 20 min away stuck in traffic and please let her wait for me. They said "not" and kicked her out anyway. Unbelievable!!!!
