Storybook Chalet inside Yosemite National Park

The Cedar Chalet is located inside Yosemite National Park in a small private development called Yosemite West. When staying at the Chalet you do not need a separate entrance reservation to the park that are required for other park visitors. The home is centrally located to all of the Park's major attractions. Yosemite Valley is 20 minutes away - Glacier Point is 25-30 minutes - The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia Trees is 35 minutes and Badger Pass Ski Resort (renowned for it's ski school for young skiers) is located 8 miles away. The home has all of the amenities you'd want in a vacation getaway - Satellite TV, Pool Table, a Sauna and a Spa. The Chalet sleeps up to 10 people in 3 bedrooms, a loft with 2 queen size aero beds and a sofa bed. The beds all feature pillow top mattresses & down comforters for the perfect night's sleep. The chalet has traditional gas heating, as well as a wood stove. Treat yourself to the best location in the Park with all of the amenities you'd want for your ultimate Yosemite Vacation.

Great place
Great place and location. So convenient being inside the park. Easy to find. Comfy beds. Great supply of firewood. Loved having the pool table. A few down notes: oven did not heat enough to cook our meal (so we improvised), hot tub jets were weak, and there was a (planned?) power outage so we returned to complete darkness with no warning from the property owner. Being from NY we donā€™t know anything about planned outages but a heads up would have been appreciated. Cleanliness was ok but cleaners should maybe look up. Overall would probably stay again. Property manager was very quick to respond to calls.

Great place
We were overall very happy with our stay. As stated in other reviews a deep clean needs to happen. There was dust and cobwebs in windows and on light fixtures. The tables and countertops were clean. There were only 4 of us in the cabin, so there was plenty of space. Lots of kitchen supplies, dishes & cooking spices. The coffee maker, oven, stovetop & grill worked great. We were happy to not have to buy trash bags, dishwasher detergent & aluminum foil. The nearest full grocery is over an hour or two away, so prepare for that! The market in Yosemite has everything you would need, it just comes with a price! We didnā€™t realize how steep the driveway would be. We were in a Nissan Pathfinder and could only back up the personal driveway. Once we made it up to the ā€œlandingā€ of the bottom of the stairs the driveway leveled out. We were happy to already have been in the park and not enter daily! That in itself provided a lot of flexibility for our trip.

Great location
Wonderful overall stay. Would have been great for a weekend. This is not a good location for an extended time because you are required to haul your trash out and there are no trash cans. We had to pile our trash in the entryway because of bears. When you have 7 people staying for 7 nights, the trash adds up. Also only one towel per person for the whole week. Washer and dryer, but I do not expect to have to do laundry when I am on vacation.

The Storybook Chalet was a perfect location for me and my family to stay while visiting the park. 20 mins to the valley, 25 mins to Mariposa Grove and 30 mins to Glacier Point. The kitchen had more than enough stuff for us to make our meals at the house. We really enjoyed the fast WiFi and hot tub as well. My only negative comment would be on the cleanliness and upkeep of the house, as someone with severe allergies the house was dusty and it doesnā€™t look like housekeeping is paying much attention to the vaulted ceilings or air ducts when it comes to the build up of dust. As noted in another review, some regular maintenance is needed such as fixing broken light fixtures, leaking faucets in bathrooms, closet doors, that donā€™t shut, etc. Overall it was a great place to stay and would have been 10/10 if it wasnā€™t for the above mentioned.

Great chalet for our family trip
The location was beautiful, and central to all parts of Yosemite that we wanted to see. The chalet was spacious, and kitchen well equiped for our meals. We had our adult kids with us, and our 15 month old grandson. The hot tub and pool table was great as well for evening fun.

Great Spot
Really like the cabin, feel like we lucked out getting it. Nice sitting outside or in the hot tub star gazing. The cabin was spacious and cozy, with lots of your basics. The only issue was the downstairs bathroom toilet, you definitely have to pull the lever up when you are finished, but I am sure Eric/Jesse will have that fixed before the next guest arrive. Fun times and great experience for my first trip to Yosemite.

We had a lovely stay. Very quiet and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils/pans The property manager, Eric, was very attentive and helpful. FYI, the driveway is steep so enter from the uphill side and stay to the left for the first 8-10 feet.

Celebrating 80 ā£ļø
With our children and grandchildren ā£ļø. The oldest 80 and youngest 8 to climb Half Dome on 9/25ā£ļø. The cabin (what an understatement) was purrrfect for all of us ā€¦ it was lovely. AND THE KITCHEN had everything you could possibly want! Amazing!

I love the touch in each room and the huge family area. The TV would not turn on. This did not ruin or stay but it would have been a nice to have. Overall I liked staying at the house. The drive way is a bit though.

Perfect location
The Storybook Chalet is everything we hoped it would be. The home is very comfortable with enough space for the whole family. The hot tub was a perfect way to end the day. Summer vaca to Yosemite 2024
Staying in the park was great as it enabled us to more quickly get to our hikes while we were in the park. Working with the owners of the home were great and they were very responsive when we had needs. Overall, house was great just could use a little bit of updating and fixing some things that are broke. Hot tub was fabulous! Could see the stars really good from their deck. Thanks!

Perfectly comfortable inside Yosemite
Our family had a great stay at the Storybook Chalet. I appreciated all of the supplies provided- shampoo, conditioner, dish and laundry detergent, dryer sheets, coffee and even hot cocoa. We all enjoyed playing pool and the hot tub in our down time. Itā€™s a lovely home and the location canā€™t be beat. We didnā€™t have to worry about waiting in long lines to get in or making reservations. We were able to do so much in the park each day and come home to a clean comfortable home. Lovely!!
This location was absolutely perfect for our trip to Yosemite! We ended up having 4 less people on our trip (6 rather than 9) and we all fit comfortably. We would have been a little tight with our whole group, but with the loft space and air mattresses it would have been just fine! The neighborhood is lovely and near a trail the lets you hike up to a fire watch tower- which I loved Definitely would recommend!

Perfect cabin in the woods
We loved this cabin in Yosemite West. We were five adults, a toddler and two dogs and we had plenty of space. It was a short drive to the valley floor and Glacier Point, really the perfect location. The cabin is beautiful and the neighborhood was quiet and backed against beautiful trees. We canā€™t wait to come back.

Location location location
The house served our group of 6 well. There were a few minor items that needed attention and the host quickly replied to all messages. The view was less than what we were hoping but there was no specific mention of a spectacular Mountain View in the listing. The view is a partial Mountain View with most of the view being trees and other houses. The main reason to book this is the location. It is in the park and only 35-40 minutes from the valley. This reeeaaallly benefited us in regard to our daily activities. We didnā€™t have to have a reservation for the park or wait in the normally long wait to enter the park. We just got going whenever we felt like it and didnā€™t have to worry about getting into the park. If you are planning 2 or more days in the park, stay in the park!

Great location!
We had an AMAZING stay! This place is located 15-30 mins from Tunnel View and Yosemite Village. Very conveniently located within the Park gates so we did Tunnel View and Bridalveil Falls Trailhead, Upper Yosemite Falls to Eagle Peak, Mirror Lake Loop, and Mist Trail to Vernal Falls/Nevada Fallsā€¦ just amazing! We will come back!
