Storybook Chalet inside Yosemite National Park

The Cedar Chalet is located inside Yosemite National Park in a small private development called Yosemite West. When staying at the Chalet you do not need a separate entrance reservation to the park that are required for other park visitors. The home is centrally located to all of the Park's major attractions. Yosemite Valley is 20 minutes away - Glacier Point is 25-30 minutes - The Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia Trees is 35 minutes and Badger Pass Ski Resort (renowned for it's ski school for young skiers) is located 8 miles away. The home has all of the amenities you'd want in a vacation getaway - Satellite TV, Pool Table, a Sauna and a Spa. The Chalet sleeps up to 10 people in 3 bedrooms, a loft with 2 queen size aero beds and a sofa bed. The beds all feature pillow top mattresses & down comforters for the perfect night's sleep. We had a blast
With that said, however, and Iā€™m sorry for the late review, there were a few issuesā€¦-rodent droppings in the pot/pan cupboard- I totally recognize that this can be an issue in the mountains, but I think cleaning people should pay some attentionā€¦ just a gentle suggestion - the oven took almost 2 hours to heat to desired temperature. This was a birthday celebration and an excellent prime rib roast was broughtā€¦. I think we ate at 10:00 pm. I do question the requirement for guests to do laundry and clean kitchen is a bit much. I recognize that a ā€œcleaning feeā€ was not included, however, Iā€™m sure it was built in. With that said, we ALWAYS leave our rentals as we found them, but do not appreciate having to spend our last few hours of our stay doing laundry. As far as the cleanliness; the oven hasnā€™t been cleaned in quite some time. The dust on the dresser and fan in the upstairs bedroom was thick, the windowsills and corners were dusty and had webs. I question the ā€œ4hoursā€ā€ that the cleaning people require. All of this said, the house is comfortable overall, the pool table was a hit. It is in a great location to Valley activities. The spa was a nice plus as well. The kitchen was probably the best stocked kitchen of any rental ever. I think the place needs a little tlc , the exterior could use some linseed oil and attention , and the interior a really good cleaning; but, again, I want to reinforce that we really enjoyed our time.

Making my bucket list come true and then some!
I have wanted to spend Christmas in Yosemite and this home was the perfect location and exceeded my expectations in comfort and convenience. The hosts were very gracious in allowing us to bring our dogs. The kitchen was great for preparing special and ordinary meals including baking. Very roomy and well-stocked with lots of cooking supplies. Rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Lots of spots and nooks to read, play games, visit throughout the home. I especially enjoyed the living space in the loft area which can also double as a sleeping spot if needed. The master bedroom upstairs was furnished beautifully and there is a dry sauna off the bathroom upstairs which was greatly appreciated after being in the hot-tub in the snow! Yes it snowed on the 24th ALOT and we had troubles getting to the property and up the driveway. But our host got right on it and the driveway was plowed and sanded quickly. Deer greeted us the first day and visited every day. This home played a huge part in making a lifetime memory.

Amazing Stay
Our family recently stayed at the Storybook Chalet inside Yosemite National Park, and even though the weather didnā€™t cooperate with snow, we couldnā€™t have asked for a better getaway. The property is truly a gem, combining comfort, charm, and an unbeatable location right inside Yosemite!The Chalet is beautifully designed and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. The cozy wood stove and plush bedding made every night feel like a retreat, and the kids absolutely loved the pool table. We also took full advantage of the sauna and spaā€”such a treat after a day of exploring (or in our case, cozying up indoors during the rain).Weā€™re already planning our next trip and hoping for some snow next time to fully experience all the area has to offer.Highly recommend it!

Great place and location. So convenient being inside the park. Easy to find. Comfy beds. Great supply of firewood. Loved having the pool table. A few down notes: oven did not heat enough to cook our meal (so we improvised), hot tub jets were weak, and there was a (planned?) power outage so we returned to complete darkness with no warning from the property owner. Being from NY we donā€™t know anything about planned outages but a heads up would have been appreciated. Cleanliness was ok but cleaners should maybe look up. Overall would probably stay again. Property manager was very quick to respond to calls.

Great place
We were overall very happy with our stay. As stated in other reviews a deep clean needs to happen. There was dust and cobwebs in windows and on light fixtures. The tables and countertops were clean. There were only 4 of us in the cabin, so there was plenty of space. Lots of kitchen supplies, dishes & cooking spices. The coffee maker, oven, stovetop & grill worked great. We were happy to not have to buy trash bags, dishwasher detergent & aluminum foil. The nearest full grocery is over an hour or two away, so prepare for that! The market in Yosemite has everything you would need, it just comes with a price! We didnā€™t realize how steep the driveway would be. We were in a Nissan Pathfinder and could only back up the personal driveway. Once we made it up to the ā€œlandingā€ of the bottom of the stairs the driveway leveled out. We were happy to already have been in the park and not enter daily! That in itself provided a lot of flexibility for our trip.

Great location
Wonderful overall stay. Would have been great for a weekend. This is not a good location for an extended time because you are required to haul your trash out and there are no trash cans. We had to pile our trash in the entryway because of bears. When you have 7 people staying for 7 nights, the trash adds up. Also only one towel per person for the whole week. Washer and dryer, but I do not expect to have to do laundry when I am on vacation.

The Storybook Chalet was a perfect location for me and my family to stay while visiting the park. 20 mins to the valley, 25 mins to Mariposa Grove and 30 mins to Glacier Point. The kitchen had more than enough stuff for us to make our meals at the house. We really enjoyed the fast WiFi and hot tub as well. My only negative comment would be on the cleanliness and upkeep of the house, as someone with severe allergies the house was dusty and it doesnā€™t look like housekeeping is paying much attention to the vaulted ceilings or air ducts when it comes to the build up of dust. As noted in another review, some regular maintenance is needed such as fixing broken light fixtures, leaking faucets in bathrooms, closet doors, that donā€™t shut, etc. Overall it was a great place to stay and would have been 10/10 if it wasnā€™t for the above mentioned.

Great chalet for our family trip
The location was beautiful, and central to all parts of Yosemite that we wanted to see. The chalet was spacious, and kitchen well equiped for our meals. We had our adult kids with us, and our 15 month old grandson. The hot tub and pool table was great as well for evening fun.

Really like the cabin, feel like we lucked out getting it. Nice sitting outside or in the hot tub star gazing. The cabin was spacious and cozy, with lots of your basics. The only issue was the downstairs bathroom toilet, you definitely have to pull the lever up when you are finished, but I am sure Eric/Jesse will have that fixed before the next guest arrive. Fun times and great experience for my first trip to Yosemite.

We had a lovely stay. Very quiet and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils/pans The property manager, Eric, was very attentive and helpful. FYI, the driveway is steep so enter from the uphill side and stay to the left for the first 8-10 feet.

Celebrating 80 ā£ļø
With our children and grandchildren ā£ļø. The oldest 80 and youngest 8 to climb Half Dome on 9/25ā£ļø. The cabin (what an understatement) was purrrfect for all of us ā€¦ it was lovely. AND THE KITCHEN had everything you could possibly want! Amazing!

Oasis in Yosemite Park
Great lodge inside the Yosemite park. Hard to beat - air con, comfortable beds, hot tub, spacious, pool table etc. Only 30 mins drive into the main Yosemite Park Valley centre which we used as a base for most days. Also close to the road which takes you up Glacier Point - a must see for anyone first time visitors to Yosemite. We are also lucky enough to see a Brown bear and her cub walking past the lodge ! Hosts were helpful in posting back my wifeā€™s gold necklace which we accidentally left behind. Would definitely stay here again if we came back.

We rented this house for a hiking trip in Yosemite and it was perfect. The house was in a good location and well-maintained. I had my two sons and grandson with me and we had a great time. I would highly recommend this property.

Perfect location
The Storybook Chalet is everything we hoped it would be. The home is very comfortable with enough space for the whole family. The hot tub was a perfect way to end the day. The location is perfect to get to major hike locations with being smack dab in the middle of glacier point and the valley. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
