Workers on strike
The lobby was completely closed due to workers on strike. They had the complete roadway to the hotel blocked off so it was very hard to access if we called an uber. Also the screams, drums, noise from everyone on strike was overwhelming and so loud. Not to mention we were given zero heads up (supposedly they have been on strike almost one month), so we were completely shocked upon arrival. At check in there was no apology, mention or offer of discount.

The workers were on strike and many of the amenities weren’t available. Additionally, I paid for breakfast through Expedia and they gave me $25 vouchers for my son and I and the only breakfast available was a buffet which costs $75 for the 2 of us.

We were disappointed on arrival to find that the hotel staff were on strike and that the hotel had limited services on . Black out curtains on the main doors to the bayfront and pool , no bar , no house cleaning. The poor staff on strike were shouting, bang drums , speaking on loud speakers , you could hear this from the 27th floor and from the pool area . The next morning we cancel our stay and move to another hotel . We had wished that the Hilton had informed of this before we arrived as this had been going on for weeks before. Very disappointed as this hotel had been highly recommended to us .

Be more transparent
Shame on hotels.com and Hilton for not mentioning when booking a week ago there has been a union protest outside for the last 5 weeks. What a debacle, the noise goes from 7am until 10pm banging on drums, loud speakers they walk around the bayside and ruin corporate events taking place and nothing can be done about it. I don’t see a reduction on price for a night either.

Most staff did their best to work with accommodations during an active strike. A lot of the staff were first or second day employees, but did a great job trying to deal with the situation. Unfortunately, other staff members were very unhelpful and made the bad situation worse.

We understood that strikes happen, but it was making it difficult for us to get in and out of the hotel and into our Ubers, the drivers were confused. Also, we were open to biking to our destination but their were not complimentary bikes (though the marriott down the road had them). We were handed a voucher to a bike rental company far away and it was only complimentary for 1 hour. Not ideal. The staff that were still working weren't the friendliest, though understandable because of the strike, but it was hard to find someone when we had questions...like where we can refill out waterbottles and for directions.

Light didn’t work. Bathroom fan didn’t work or didn’t even exist. AC was weak and didn’t cool the room. Protestors were constant from 7am - 10pm every day. They were so loud even on the 27th floor that it sounded like they were right outside the window. Can’t believe they got away with charging such an absurdly high rate given what was going on and made no mention to me as a guest before hand.

Employees were rightfully causing a ruckus outside the holy during my stay (and for the past 22 days at the time of my stay) because Hilton refuses to pay them a livable wage. I'm shocked, a multibillion dollar company won't pay their workers but will charge customers out the ass to use their services facilitated by said workers :) 0/5

We had no idea that property was in labor contract dispute.Hotel staff were under staff and protesters made it very difficult for guest to enter and exit the Hotel!! Safety was a big concern.!!very difficult too get ride sharing. Guest services change daily due to protesters.Hotel staff should have been better prepared !! Hard for me to believe the Hotel did not see this coming!! Very loud and very disruptive dimensration!! Will not stay at that property again!

With a strike going on, we felt uncomfortable. They were loud and near the entrances. The hotel staff did their best to route us to the only opened entrances, remained calm and friendly. But still when we paid that rate we didn’t expect to have to deal with the strike and wished we had been informed of that.
