We’ve stayed at this hotel before and it’s very good, and in a really convenient spot, however would recommend you avoid the pool and spa. Half the lighting is off over the pool, the chair cushions look like they’ve been found in a skip, and the whole place is in a poor state of repair and very dirty. We were charged an extra £10 each at the pool desk, but we left after 20mins, using hand sanitizer on our feet, it was so bad. I’ve seen that urban explorer guy breaking into abandoned council pools that look more inviting than this.

The hotel is lovely only problem we had was that somebody let themselves into our room at 8.30am but the reception couldnt explain this when i called them

Enjoyed a free drink at the bar while we waited 5 mins for the room to be ready. Room was not the same as the pictures but still ok. Had a dirty cup and only decaf coffee pods for the machine, used the spa pool and gym facilities the former we had to pay £10pp which I don’t think was advertised. Won’t be paying for a higher tier room if I stay again

It was nice to stay at Mercure St Paul’s Sheffield with my son who has a swimming competition , at the beginning they gave us a room with one double bed despite me reminding them that I needed a twin room and I requested this a week before over the phone, but I think that was a mistake which was sorted quickly, other than that it was a pleasant stay and staff were nice.

Best hotel in Sheffield
The room was spacious, comfortable and bright. The location is brilliant: very central, near to the railway station and within easy walking distance of the university. Staff at reception and breakfast service were wonderful (Elizabeth and Linda) in particular. We also enjoyed a swim at the spa. Perfect!

Tired old room, missing furniture, annoying bright flashing light on the thermostat on all night. The pool costs £10 per visit which is not mentioned when booking - felt ripped off as that was a reason we stayed there and paid more than other hotels. Glad it was only for one night and we will not be returning. Staff were friendly and helpful, central location is good.
