The property itself and the staff were excellent- only drawback was being next to airport and having late night and early morning flights make earth shattering noise as they landed nearby.

The property was clean, had plenty of hot water in the morning and was conveniently located near a few restaurants. We rented a car after a couple of days and that meade us realize how much more conveniently located it was to other destinations. The staff was nice and helpful. We felt very safe in the property and the surrounding areas. We weren't in the room a lot, but it was a bit noisy at times with other guests and airplane traffic. Our sound machine was either broken or not easy to use. The restaurant attached was not very good, so I would not reccomend earing there. I would go to Pineapples or Hawaiian style if you want a great meal. Pond's and Ken's were totally fine and walkable from the hotel and decent. I would reccomend this place to travelers in general. If they had a TV, I would have given it a 5 star. Overall a great place to stay!

Be prepared There is no coffee hot water for tea etc in the room The king rooms are the farthest away from the lobby 10 min walk with luggage No elevator So it is more for minimalist vibe The parking is far from the rooms Pool is not heated pretty cold Refreshing in the day not at night No tv stations so bring your password or hdmi cord By the air port Bring ear plugs!!!

Great hotel, interesting location
All in all, this was a pretty lovely hotel. A little close to the airport, but somehow I barely noticed that. At first we were in a room by the pool. But that proved to be a little noisy, so we asked to be moved. They were so kind and moved us to a much more quiet area. There is a small bay or lagoon across the street from the hotel and that had some locals fishing there until pretty late in the evening and throughout the weekend. In all they were pretty quiet and kept to themselves. But on Sunday someone had some obnoxiously loud music blaring from their car or motorcycle. It was disruptive and unwelcome, but what can you do about that? It's their right to play music. And it certainly was not the hotel's fault. No room service, but there was complimentary coffee every morning and plenty of options of snacks for purchase in the gift shop/lobby area. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel was okay. Live music in the lobby some nights was a nice touch. And the proximity to downtown Hilo (so cute) was great.

Property was in a great location. Free SUP boards for use. The staff were the best!!!! The only fault would be the rooms need to be upgraded some. Overall yes we would stay there again. Did I mention the best staff!

My Christmas Eve experience at this hotel was absolutely appalling. The bathroom was infested with dead bugs, fly bugs were buzzing around the room, and small insects crawled on the walls. To make matters worse, the hotel blared deafening DJ music starting at 4:30 AM—yes, before dawn. The noise was unbearable, and many guests abandoned the hotel before sunrise. Sleep was impossible, and the entire night was a nightmare.

Great except for one issue (possibly minor)
Hotel was super cute and the staff were nice. The mattress was comfortable and the a/c was awesome. We also loved being in walking distance to Reeds Beach. The interior gardens/lobby areas were very pretty. But our shower didn't drain well, and that's a pet peeve for me - I don't love washing my hair as the water is backing up around my ankles. I guess if you have really short hair like my husband, it's all good. They did have great coffee in the am, and they even gave us each a cute little cup of kombucha, so that was nice.
