This property exceeded our expectations. It had everything you need in a good condo: a modern kitchen with reasonably new appliances, granite countertop, good A/C, washer/dryer, lots of utensils. They even gave us a rice cooker. There was a water leak the day we checked in, and hence, they gave us a different unit. They could have done a better job of communicating that issue. But they did handle the issue promptly when we reached out. Definitely a great location - next to beach, close to main shopping/dining places.

The views on the balcony were awesome, you could relax and watch the surfers and boogie boarders. The private bedroom was perfect when you have people that are on different sleep schedules.

Classic bait and switch!!
The Kona Reef was not as advertised. The guest room was disgusting. The room was dirty, bathroom not cleaned, stains on the bed sheets. The sofa was covered in blond hair and stains. The furniture was old and worn. The overall condition was so poor, my wife and I checked out the next day (we had an 8 day reservation). I requested a refund at the resort and the resort staff told me to call hotels.com. I called hotels.com and initially they told me to call the resort. I explained the resort told me to call hotels.com. The hotels.com representative told me a complaint will be filed.

The room has a strong musty smell it was a dehumidifier in the room and I have to empty 3 times a day, the property is next door to a public park the homeless people lived in this parks and they wonder in the property, I found 2 of them outside my window, I have reported to the property manager and nothing happened, the homeless people attempted to open the sliding window, I didn’t felt safe for that reason. Also we found cockroaches the curtains were dirty. Not a pleasant stay.

I liked the exterior of the place it was beautiful and well kept on the outside but I was seriously disappointed on the inside. The sheets were stained with blood and makeup it was clearly not cleaned. The ceiling seem to be thin because we heard loud noises coming from it the entire time we stayed there. The dryer in the condo was broke and was never fixed or replaced so we were unable to do any laundry. I feel it had been broken for awhile which I think explains why the sheets on the bed were dirty. Parking was limited resulting in parking along the street.
