The Cooper Cottage was built in 1906, has been in the Cooper family since 1944 and features a stone fireplace built by Richard Cooper and his father, Herbert. It also has an enclosed porch that looks out over the water; with Chaumont Bay on one side and Guffins Bay on the other, the view is just spectacular! Newly remodeled, this wheelchair accessible, two bedroom cottage sits just feet from Lake Ontario. With all the amenities of home, all you need to do is sit back and relax and enjoy the view.

Very Pleasant Getaway
Needed a break from day to day responsibilities and Carolyn's cottage was the perfect getaway. Just to sit outside and feel the breeze from the bay was so relaxing and peaceful. We rented a kayak from Bob's for a day and that was fun for the family. The general store was close by and pretty much had anything we needed. Carolyn was a pleasant host, and very responsive. We were very pleased to be able to take our dog, but the rocks in the water were a little rough on his paws. My only complaint is that there weren't enough days available to lengthen our stay. Thank you, Carolyn... we had a great time!

Comfortable Lake House With Terrific Views
We found this lake house to be comfortable, clean and certainly well appointed. The view from the rear enclosed porch and from the master bedroom was perfection and the lake could not be more accessible (or closer!) The location was perfection for our needs and the neighborhood lovely. Everyone was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again if in the region. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars instead of 4 is that the water in the tap is not potable (an issue throughout the area and not unique to this rental.) We quickly adjusted to the fact, but some might find it an issue they do not want to deal with.

Excellent location
Property was as described but not as handicapped accessible as desired. The ground at the doorway was uneven, making wheelchair travel difficult and thresholds into the cottage and into the sunroom were a challenge. Otherwise, we enjoyed the cottage, the view and the availability of everything needed to enjoy our stay.

A nice quiet, cute cottage in Chaumont overlooking the water. Very relaxing and beautiful location. Slept well except for the little critters in the wall scurrying about throughout the night.

We had a beautiful time there great view of the lake ...nicest night breeze that time of year we were there.... Parking w a boat trailer was a challenge ...but still got it done . A cleaning fee should be an option ... But all in all very nice place

Beautiful location on the lake. The parking area was good. House was adequate but it had a very musty smell. I have alot of allergies, so, My nose was clogged the whole time I was there. There's also no shades or blinds on the windows, so, we hung towels on the bathroom window for privacy. We cleaned it very well before we left. I wish it was that clean when we got there. Also, the refrigerator door handle was broken. The owner was very nice

Practically paradise
We wanted a property to gather our adult kids/spouses and children. The Cooper Cottage was just perfect for our getaway. The location is stunningly beautiful and the cottage itself can be described as well appointed but rustic. There are homey touches everywhere and you really feel the history and love the place has seen. There are chipmunks and bunnies in the yard in the morning and evening and a gray heron visited the dock every day at dawn and dusk, too! We had a wonderful, relaxing week.

Chaumont stay
Cooper’s cottage was just as described, a cozy retreat on the water. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay. Carolyn gave us great recommendations for restaurants, which we took advantage of for two of the nights. Very relaxing fishing off the dock and kayaking in the calm waters of the bay.

Absolutely Peaceful Retreat !
This was an absolutely tremendous vacation spot with wonderful charm. A quaint home, you can tell that it's rich with history and character with all the furnishings and family memorabilia. The neighborhood is great and the bay is very soothing and peaceful. Carolyn and Kim were helpful in every conceivable way. It's close to the Thousand Islands area if you're interested in a day trip. Check out Wise Guys or the Blue Heron if your looking for in town dining.
