Everything was so clean. Loved the shower and that it actually did not wet the floor outside the curtain. Check in was quick and easy. And check out was convenient to just drop off the key card in the drop box.

Modest Desert Gem
Excellent value for price. Very clean, functional, and comfortable. Appreciated the convenience of a kitchenette with microwave and fridge but no dishes or cookware supplied. It is an older place but a good effort has been made to update it. Commendable owner who obviously takes the time to listen and respond to feedback. Staff (Natalie) is very friendly and helpful. She also kindly responded to a my post-stay email when I thought I had lost something. Wifi works well. Photos are a little better than real life but, that is true with all hotels. Location is close to the hub of all main routes through Las Vegas making it easy to access any of the environs. The location is definitely "downtown" but I did not feel unsafe being alone or feel that my vehicle was unsafe in the parking lot. And it was very peaceful and quiet. (There are homeless people in every city and this is no different; and this place is clearly advertised to be located on Fremont.) Appreciate that Desert Moon provides a great value for affordable accommodation and I would be happy to return.

The photos online are nothing like the property. We were so disappointed after checking in that we did not even stay the night. The individual at the front desk, although nice, stated there was nothing they could do and it was too late to cancel. This is also a rent by the week property which I did not see disclosed on the website. They "allow pets" for an additional fee. However, nowhere on their site disclosed the amount which ended up doubling the cost in addition to a deposit which I did not see disclosed online. The reviews online were so positive and the photos made this property seem clean, open and pleasant. Unfortunately, to us, it was not. I found a place for less money just off the strip that was far more clean, quiet and affordable. I was really bummed - this place seemed to have a lot of promise but did not deliver. And they refused to refund ANY of the money, including the pet fees when we didn't even stay the night there.

This is an older motel on Fremont and close to the Downtown experience. This is not the best of neighborhoods but it is on the upswing and all of the rooms are completely redone and are very nice. The inside was great for the value and the room was sparking and smelling super clean. I am now a regular here when I come to town.

It looks nothing like the pictures, it’s basically a motel 6 without the cheap price. It’s in a horrible area full of unfriendly people. Vending machines don’t work. Bright side there are 2 7/11 within walking distance. I would use cation when going their also.

This will be a long review so if you want the bottom line: It's two thumbs up. My daughter and I went to Las Vegas for a week to work a convention. We needed a microwave, a refrigerator and a reasonable price. The Desert Moon was a real find. Apparently you need to check in before 7pm which I don't remember seeing. Chris (our desk clerk on check-in) called us mid-afternoon and asked what time we expected to log in (we were driving from the Bay Area). We told him that we anticipated 7PM, he said fine. No mention of a cut-off. Good customer service. When we arrived he checked us in, walked us to our room, verified that both our keys worked and wished us a good stay. Great customer service! The room was clean, contained everything we needed and had both a sink and a 2-burner cooktop besides the refrigerator and microwave. The water pressure is great and the hot water is fast and hot. The shower has both a rain shower head and a hand-held. The bathroom and closet were both no bigger than they needed to be but perfectly functional. We have no complaints/opinions about the neighborhood. We live in a city and the neighborhood seems both safe and normally urban to us. The only time I heard yelling in the parking lot at 4:30am it was a AAA guy in our parking lot. He gets a pass. If your idea of a hotel is the Marriott, this is not for you. If you want a really great bargain in Las Vegas, check it out,

The motel is located in old downtown Las Vegas, so don't expect lush surroundings like the Strip. Since it's on a main street, there can be some car noises late at night. It's only a few minutes drive from supermarket and inexpensive family/fast food restaurants, so very convenient for taking care of basic needs. The staff was friendly and helpful during my check-in. I only stayed three nights, didn't ask for housekeeping service, so can't comment on that. The room itself appeared to have been renovated some time in the past. Things looked a bit dated now but were still in good condition. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. If i were staying longer, I'd have used the small kitchen to save on meals, but not this time. If you're a glamorous tourist, this place is not for you. But if you're a practical traveler looking for value and can handle yourself in an older neighborhood, I'd recommend you take a look at this motel. I myself will definitely consider staying here again.
